Vivint THEY TOOK 644.00 FROM MY BANK EVEN THOUGH I HAD CANCELLED BY FAX 3 DAYS AFTER SIGNING UP Calgary, Alberta
19th of Oct, 2011 by User590558
OK sorry so long but I am mad and I want you to know before you sign up
Sept 30 ,2011 Vivint came to my door and convinced me to give it a try, you know with the 14 day cancel period he reassured me about and that either my husband or I could cancel if we decided because we both are owners of the house.
The sales guy also told me we had to pay the 199.00 fee and it would be 70.00 a month which ok to me equals 269.00 but hey maybe I am not good at math.I gave a void cheque.
I kind of became suspicious when an installer was at my door 45 minutes later and did not have the sign that the sales guy so bragged about or the camera or the keyless entry .He did install the monitor and the door alarms and told me he would call the next day to arrange a time to get me the rest of the stuff. He did not call.
So I read the contract to figure out how to cancel on October 3,2011. I noticed the cancel period is actually 10 days, ok my fault for not actually reading it believing him on the 14 days but luckily its only 3 days later.
So I phone to make sure I am faxing confirmation to the right place, they say yes but I cannot cancel because only my husbands name is on the contract, all they need is a fax from him with his signature. He writes a note he signs it and I fax it and keep the proof.
Noone comes to get the system, but somebody comes to our door that same day and guess what? They are from Vivint and and asked if we are interested in a security system?????My husband said we already got one and the person was upset because noone should have been in our area already, Our sales guy was not even supposed to be in our neighborhood Sept 30.
I call Vivint a couple days later they tell me yes they received the fax and no I cannot be charged but they cannot get the system until they can talk to my husband. My husband is working up North at this time so I told them I dont know when he can call it could be a couple weeks.Vivint said no problem, enjoy the system free of charge until they can talk to him.
Yesterday October 19th Vivint charged my account twice for $322.00. THEY TOOK 644.00!!!19 days after signing that contract and 16 days after cancelling.
Today October 20th they said oops its a mistake it will take 10 business days to mail back the money. I can understand if they accidentally took the 269.00 a little though remember I dont even have the camera, sign or keyless entry included in that price .......But not 644.00.They will be here in 9 business days to pick up the system. I will not answer till I get my money back.
