Wayfair.com Classic bait and switch ripoff, Internet
2nd of Dec, 2011 by User208975
I bought and paid for two knife sets through Amazon. The merchant was Wayfair. I got the regular order confirmation from Amazon, showing the two knife sets as being ordered and paid for. The order was to be supplied by Wayfair. Wayfair then sent me an e-mail saying thank you for your order, and at the bottom it showed two kitchen shears being ordered, instead of the two knife sets. It was the kind of confirmation you get all the time and just quickly glance at. I did notice it, and replied that no, I ordered two sets of knives, not two kitchen shears. They replied with a lot of baloney about the knives being out of stock until 2012. When I checked the Amazon site 5 hours later there was now 6 of the the knife sets available through Wayfair. They got caught doing the classic bait and switch, hoping the customer would not notice in the busy Christmas shopping season. So sorry Wayfair, (should be WAYUNFAIR) I did notice. It kept me from being their next ripoff victim. Now, they refuse to honor the original order, even though their site shows that there are 6 in stock.
