We purchased a 6 week old female Shih Tzu puppy from Kristi Hanner Gleaves and Syler Sims Velez. We paid $300 for the puppy. We signed a contract that stated the puppy had been health checked at a vet clinic and was in perfect health. The contract stated we had 24 hours to have our own vet health check. No refunds were given. The breeder also told us that the puppy had been given its first set of shot at the vet and dewormed. When we got the puppy home we noticed a limp in the puppies back left leg. Looking like the puppies leg was out of socket. We called the breeders daughter (Skyler) and asked if she had noticed this problem before. She said no. We told her we would have the puppy checked out and go from there. The next day we called the vet clinic that they said they had taken the puppy to for the shots and health check to get shot records and the vet told us they had never seen these puppies. We called the breeders daughter back and she told us that they gave the puppy the shots theirself and a friend had wormed them. We took our puppy to our vet and the vet found SEVERAL things wrong with our puppy. First the leg has a limb deformity where the knee cap is not connected and pops in and out. This will have to be fixed when she is older with surgery. This is something that she was born with. The vet said there was no way that we could of done this. There was no fluid or selling around the leg. The puppy also has a bilateral inguinal hernia. This means our puppy can never have puppies even if we wanted her to. This will have to be fixed with surgery!!! Also a fontanel...a soft spot in the top of her head that is larger then normal and if she was to be dropped or hit in the head she could suffer serious damage....This should grow up over time. The puppy only weighs 1.8 pounds and should have never been sold until over 2 pounds. If the breeder had taken her for a vet check she would of know that his puppy had these problems and would not of been able to sell this puppy without at least telling the buyers about these problems. We have tried to work something out with the breeder, but she refuses to answer our phone calls. She only sends text messages telling us to leave her alone of she will press charges against us for harassment!!!! We don not want to give the puppy back. We plan on keeping her and fixing her problems when she is big enough. We only wanted the breeder to honor her contract and do what was fair. Please Please do not buy from this breeder! She is a scammer!!! and a FAKE!!!! |
