I paid a premium price to upgrade to Whirlpool Gold double ovens. Since they're just barely 5 years old I was a little surprised to learn the control board (computer) had burned out and I needed a new one. O.K. no big deal right?? After all, I got 5 good years out of this oven and the $360.00 replacement part/labor bill is better than buying a new one right?

Well, I called an appliance repair company to come out and he confirms I need a new control board. He tries to order part # W10244191. Come to find out, not only is the part NOT currently available through Whirlpool, it's been on back order since AUGUST!! Everytime Whirlpool says the part will be available, it gets pushed out another month, then another month. Now Whirlpool is saying the part will not be available until 1/28/2011 and by the way, since HUNDREDS of consumers are having this same problem with their gold ovens, I may be waiting for months while all of us fight for the few control panels to repair our ovens. Whirlpool has known about the problem with the control boards and refuses to do the right thing and have a recall. Not a single distributor in the USA has the part for this oven. I started reading on the internet story after story about the ovens breaking down right after warranty expires and NO replacement parts to be found..

Now I'm stuck waiting for months for a replacement part for my over-priced oven that doesn't work with 22 people coming to my house for Xmas dinner next week. Spoke with "frank" from Whirlpool customer service. He was the highest level person in the dept. He was unsympathetic to my needs. I swear I'll NEVER buy another WHIRLPOOL product again and will make sure I tell as many people as I can about my disappointment. Bought a Whirlpool microwave and refrigerator at the same time as the ovens that has been a LEMON since I bought it. Problem was never rectified. The refrigerator has already gone through one motor. COME ON WHIRLPOOL GET WITH IT!! you've lost me as a customer for good. MERRY XMAS!!

i bought all my appliances from sears for a whole house remodel. my diashwashers board went ou with only being used twice my refrigerator went out after the warranty went out so we had to repair that then my whirlpool gold double oven has had 4 boards go out in 7 yrs i have been without an oven since last october, sear tells me that they cant even find any records of them ever coming to my house. they delivered the appliances and we werent ready for thrm just yet so we installed them. when the oven was unpacked it had a nut fromn a bolt in between the teo pieces of glass so they came and took it out. they replaced my board in my oven teice then the warranty was out so we paid a local man to repair it. they was at my house(SEARS) 5 times and have no record of ever being here so that means that all of my record are lost. which included our credit card info address and everything else. i am at my wits end with what to do. we spent over $4000 in one day there buying appliance and my records are all lost. my glass also broke when i had it on the cleaning cycle one day. at first they blamed it on my electric so we had the expense of hiring an electrician check it out to make sure. when we showed them the evidence they still told us it had to be electrical. we are just stuck with lemons and dont know what to do. tina we need to some how get a class action suit going. i too have contacted whirlpool with now help. IF ANYONE CAN HELP US I WOULD BE WILLING TO DO ANYTING. THANK YOU
