Winchester Wireless David Williamson Local ISP
1st of Dec, 2011 by User626342
Winchester Wireless is a local ISP came Highly recommended by many in the area. We are just a few minutes outside of town away from any comcast so our options looked like a 5gb cap cellular solution or satellite which isnt consistent enough. Met the guy said he offered unlimited high speed internet at"Up to 10Mbps Download / 3.5Mbps Upload" for 59.99 a month. He has been in business for nearly 20 years as a computer repair shop and just in recent years began selling internet service. He charged 49.99 to survey the site up front, another 300 for the equipment as it is a line of sight wireless motorola setup. and then its 59.99 a month from then on. If you choose to sell back the equipment when you cancel your service they will buy it back for 100 if it still works, not a good or bad thing just a thought to include to be fair. Been using it for now almost a year, have only complained a couple of times however its been a constant struggle to maintain internet at all many of times it goes down on a friday and theres nothing you can do until monday. At its best I can reach .56Mbps download and .55Mbps upload. The worst ive seen taken same day within about 30min. was .05Mbps down and .04Mbps up. I call to complain and what I get is Ive gone over 2gb of bandwidth so they throttle me back. From the same owner when asked about this a year ago said was unlimited and when I brought up the concern of using too much bandwidth said no worries its unlimited high speed just like comcast but better. I expressed my concern and was upfront about using a large amount of bandwidth and gave him a figure of around 40gb each month. I guess he didnt take me seriously then. Yes I use a lot of bandwidth the whole family is technology driven with all these internet devices like ipads and smartphones, a gigabit hardwired network throughout the house and multiple computers online at all hours of the day and night. I run my own online business from home many days but find myself grabbing a laptop to upload or check email from a local wifi hotspot in town. Its only a 5 minute drive into town but why When Ive already sunk $345 into the setup plus 59.99 each month and at best spotty support when the near non existent internet connection goes down. The internet is more like a dial up and many many times its slower than dial up. Im 5 minutes outside of town, Please Comcast hear my cry! I want you back please come to my new place so I can eat the loss on this and get a REAL HIGH SPEED internet!

Dear User626342,

As stated in your complaint on ripoffreport.com, I have asked you to contact our office to speak with me directly and identify yourself so we can look at your account to see if we can assist in resolving your performance issues. As of the date of writing this follow-up to your complaint, you have yet to contact our office so we can help you, so I am guessing that either the problem no longer exists, or perhaps this was not an accurate complaint to begin with.

For reference purposes, here is a link to the original complaint:

http://www.ripoffreport.com/communications-networking/winchester-wireless/winchester-wireless-david-will-89615.htm

As you will see in the original complaint, many other customers have since posted rebuttals to the complaint, with feedback that more accurately represents the quality of Winchester Wireless internet services. I am once again encouraging you to reach out and contact me and identify yourself if you want help resolving your problem.

Most likely at this point, I am going to assume that this complaint could possibly be misleading data from a local competitor, in the hopes that prospective customers will come across this complaint and make an inaccurate assessment of our company based on this isolated complaint. I would encourage any prospective customers to contact us and fully discuss any questions or concerns with our staff. Ask for referrals in your local area as well if that would make you feel more comfortable with your decision.

And, as always, there is a 30 day 100% money back guarantee on our service, as well as no contracts to sign, so no long-term commitments.

In closing, I hope you will take the time to contact me, User626342.

Regards,

David WIlliamson

David Williamson is always saying its the"competition" when someone speaks up and vents on how their service is. Maybe its his guilty conscious. When I spoke to him about his service he spent more time bad-mouthing Wave 2 Net than selling his own service. After more research I found a antenna company that has spent more than a year trying to get paid for antennas that he received. (My guess they are on a lot of peoples homes now.)

Long winded, loudmouth deadbeat. Yep. As for your "rebuttles" I think you posted them all there yourself. BBB rates you as an "F".

BTW, take time to pay your bills.
