Issue 1: Wiring


a. A total of 44.5 hours was charged for wiring. (Over-charged $580.00)


i. Estimates from 3 other shops/sources list time as 24-30 hours. ($800.00 est)


b. 6 July 2010 work performed listed as: Disassemble dash, steering column, & wiring harness. Map out wiring harness. Install wiring supplies, looms, harness


i. With mapping out/installing there is no reason for an additional 36.5 hours to wire the vehicle. These additional charges need to be justified.


ii. All wires were labeled prior to bringing Jeep in.


c. 9 July 2010 work performed listed as: Install Switches.


i. Switches were not installed. (Charged $136.00 for no work performed)


Issue(s) 2: Unauthorized Work Performed and Charged For


a. 9 July 2010 work performed listed as, Install shims in front axle, weld front end.


i. Work was not discussed, authorized and was even refuted on e-mail. (Charged $428.00 for unauthorized work/parts.)


b. 10 Aug 2010 work performed listed as, Welding Front & rear spring mounts, front & rear perch mounts, Front & rear mounts to axle.


i. Work was not discussed, authorized and was even refuted on e-mail. (Charged $200.00 for unauthorized work/parts.)


Issue(s) 3: Charges For Work Not Performed


a. 9 Aug 2010 work performed listed as, Install Radiator.


i. Radiator was not installed. (Fraudulently Charged $40.00 and no work/result tangible)


b. 30 Aug 2010 work performed listed as, Removal of incorrect & Install correct radiator.


i. Radiator still not installed. An additional charge for work already performed and charged for. Still not correct. (Fraudulently Charged $120.00)


c. 15 Sep 2010 work performed listed as, Install Brakes.


i. Brakes were never installed. Charged for removal of brakes 0n 27 Sep 2010. ($80.00 for a job not performed) **NOTE: Brakes successfully installed by local shop***


Issue(s) 4: Lost/Damaged Parts and Charges for Used/Unauthorized Materials


a. 30 Aug 2010 work performed listed as, Steering Box / Materials.


i. Original Steering Box brought in with Jeep was $230.00. This is not the Box returned with Jeep, a used Toyota box for $150.00.


ii. Brakes were not stored inside and were rusted. New pads had to be purchased due to negligence. ($70.00)


Considerations:


a. Jeep was to be done in 4 weeks. Took almost 3 months.


b. Charges were over 20% of estimate violating NRS 482.313


c. Agreement was not kept; work was not performed as described.


d. E-mail requests outlining work requested to be done were ignored.


e. Not contacted for work approval or deviations.


f. Several items did not appear on bill until FINAL bill.


g. Recommended work to be done is the same as what was allegedly performed.


h. Active Duty Soldier taken advantage of.
