Red Flag #1: This individual contacted me via LinkedIn interested in an investing one of our companies. That was the first red flag, so I did some research to flush out all of his information. It is my hope that the search engines will crawl this as this individual has several hundred people on their linkedin account. He will even go as far as call you and offer to fly you out to see him. He sent me the following email with the important contact information. This gives me a phone number to search the internet, a website and an email address. ---------------------

US It is registered to http://www.gold-domain.com. http://www.gold-domain.com shouldn't be trusted as they do not even do the due diligence to make sure the contact information of the owner of the domain is valid. Red Flag #4: In addition, the domain was just registered on April 11, 2011. That is less than 6 weeks before this individual contacted us. What does that have to do with anything related to the United Emirates and an investor? Red Flag #6: The address "old metric goldcage" was an interesting phrase even though there is no such street address. This was the gold mine in terms of fraud and the nail the coffin of justification that this is fraud. After performing a search, approximately 122 results were returned with reference to scam, bank fraud, 419, etc. You name it, "old metric goldcage" is part of it including the email address [email protected].
