This guy also took my money and ran in April. I had been waiting to post this until I heard back from the BBB, but he never responded to them. I gave him PLENTY of time to make good on his contract which he failed to do. He did some of the work....maybe 20% of the job and left my backyard a complete disaster. I hired him to install two retaining walls, install some crown molding, and install some supports on the deck. He ONLY tore up the yard, put up about 20% of one of the retaining walls and did a horribly sloppy job on the little bit of work he did do. He never did any of the trim work or supports for the deck. The mortar work was just terrible. I have plenty of photos of the way he left my yard and the condition things were left in. He kept saying to not worry about the extra mortar as he would come back after he finished with a wire brush and clean it off. That never happened. He got paid basically for more than the original estimate as he kept asking for progress payments immediately after he started the job. He'll tell you that the estimate does not include supplies or materials when he starts asking for more money. He'll tell you the job will only take a week, then only work two days and come up with excuses why he hasn't shown up. When he doesn't show up to do the job, he'll have some lame excuses or that he has some kind of heart condition. I don't believe a word this guy says. He also told me he was previously a nurse and graduated from Brookhaven, but I couldn't find anyone with his name under the state licensing board with his name. If he ever was, it was under a different name. I have since hired a different honest contractor who has finished the job and fixed what Patrick Carpenter tore up. His company is an LLC and I pulled the public records with the State Comptroller. His registered agent has an address of: United States Corporation Agents, Inc.

The PO Box in Garland is not really helpful. Please make sure if you have a complaint, that you also file with the BBB Better Business Bureau and you can also file with the Attorney General's office. We may never be able to track this guy down as I have a feeling he might be getting out of Dodge with all the people he has ripped off! He claims he is a Christian man......yeah right. I wonder if he'll still say that when he is burning in hell? |

These people posting this false information about Carpenter Construction are totally wrong.
I hired Pat after reading these reviews. Pat leveled my sidewalk, and my yard. He also built an amazing stone flowerbed border with real stone not that chalk rock crap. I have done masonry work before and I can tell you these guys are really stand up guys.
There range of abilities is amazing, not only were they able to repair all my masonry needs but they welded my back iron gate together, pached my back sidewalk, and painted my rusty patio furniture for FREE!! My wife loved it!! |
