Castle Credit Corporation
Castle Credit Corporation Castle Credit Corporation predatory lending, Rainsoft Financing partner Chicago , Illinois
16th of Dec, 2010 by User604125
We were swindled also in purchasing a RainSoft system via Castle Credit Corporation. The salesman came to my home and performed a demonstration, to show how "hard" the city water was, well I thought the water was really "nasty". I was told by the salesperson since my credit wasn't very good that I will not qualify and he will see what he could do; I also told him I could not afford it, but he said " I can work something out for you to make it affordable"; he made no mention about the " Service call Fee ($100), that is just for them to come out (excluded changing filters), now the system does not work now and cannot afford the service call plus any other work that is required for an additional cost. Castle Credit collection tactics are harassing. A law suit should be filed for both companies (RainSoft and Castle Credit) $4000 dollar softener, $8000, this is unfair and unethical practice to prey on people. We should all get together an file a lawsuit. I feel STUPID and BETRAYED by these companies.

I got the same deal you did. I feel the same way. I am looking into it with a laywer. they are threatening litigation and court fees and all but I am thinking that is a bunch of crap really. They have been in litigation but as the defendant not the prosecution. Prosecution won and had to pay back a corporation over 66, 000 dollars. (google litigation against castle credit corporation.)

my unit did the same as yours and same deal. 100 to come out allegedly the parts are covered by "warrenty" however. I am doing my research. I'll let ya know if I find anything out.

We got the same shit end of the stick deal...but, we were screwed by a company called just water...and we actually had good credit ...still got screwed. Castle corp has been harrassing us about our payments. We make the payments on time but, they dont process them in time and then add on late charges. Our water softner company wrote 5 years of free filter changes and they refused to come out and change them. I think we need to file a class action suit against them,

Another thing is after the system was in there for over a week, they called again trying to sale the same product. So we had them come out and test our water again, hmmmm...we had hard water and the water was dirty. So this is bull and we really need to do something.

I too am a victim of Rainsoft and Castle Credit. We were given the same story about horrible water and wanted the system but couldn't afford to pay it out of pocket. They came and installed the system one day without our consent and we told them to take it back out. They sent a manager from Rainsoft to our house to smooth things out and he told us he would not only give us the system for almost half the price, but that they would finance us for $100 a month with no interest. We agreed and paid on the system for two years. We were a little surprised that we had gotten a letter stating to make payments through Castle Credit, but we didn't question it either. We should have! Rainsoft sold our account to Castle Credit who made changes to the original contract we signed with Rainsoft, without our permission, but they did it on the copy with our signatures so good luck proving that we didn't agree to their disgusting terms of lending. I would NEVER have agreed to pay under the terms that Castle has stuck to us. We didn't even know we were getting ripped off until my husband got laid off and we had to call to make a payment arrangement. The representatives were rude, unprofessional, and demeaning in their manner. They threatened us with legal action and told us they had a lien on our house and that if we didn't pay our balance in full they would take our house. I actually did a little digging and found they do have a UCC lien but it's against their water system, not our house. Anyway, it was disturbing that this could happen. We agreed to do business with Rainsoft under certain terms and behind our back it was all changed and transferred and a lien placed against us? I don't see how this is legal. We have since stopped paying for the water system, it is a piece of crap and we've paid them almost in full what we agreed to with Rainsoft initially. Not they are threatening to garnish wages. I definitely think there needs to be a class action suit. There are so many others out there who have been swindled and taken advantage of. Count me in. I'm trying to find legal counsel now. If anyone would like to contact me to collaborate you can e-mail me at [email protected].

Same thing they wanted to sell equipment states has lifetime guarantee. Tells you it does many thing to save you money the machine will pay for itself. They give you a find the same type system in x amount of time you can have free. Obviously couldnt be done. So we tell them ee can't afford the 8000.00 in payments. They call back say they wprk you a deal for approx 4000.00 1/2 price. You sign papers not knowing their slamming you with s very high interest rate. You realize after a few payments you've been slammed by them this is definately predatory lending. You'll never pay loan off and equipment does not
do what thay advertize. I still have original paper work they use in their tactics. Fred Alegre 904-427-0401

I have already paid 10, 000 for a 7600 system that I can no longer use. Castle Credit now says I still owe 10, 000 due to late payments and increase in interest. If anyone knows of a class action suit, please let me know. [email protected]
