I have a situation and I want my money back. I posted a job on Elance.com - named Sales & Marketing Experts - I needed someone to assist me in marketing my business.
Mr. Frazie with 'CCI' responded. We scheduled a short phone call, on the call he informed me the fee to work with his company was $250 - then I would be set up as a client, and they would assist me in a marketing plan to market my business and get more clients and sales.
The payment was to be set up in Elance Escrow account, today we had another phone call scheduled to go over my marketing plan and moving forward. During that call I funded the Elance Escrow i
I funded escrow today, 9/16/2011 in the amount of $272.50 --he made me pay the Elance fees -- I thought this was to pay a fee to start my sales/marketing program with this company - and instead I received a 1 hour phone call and review of a spreadsheet to answer questions. During the call I was informed that I would pay additional fees for leads and contacts. AND that I would be made a vendor of their company. After our call because of the additional fees - I changed my mind and requested the milestone be changed to $0 so that I could receive a prompt refund, and instead the contractor filed a dispute.
I contacted Elance support and spoke with Jacque asking what to do - at that time was when I changed the milestone. In turn is when the contractor filed the dispute.
I would understand him keeping the funds if several days had gone by, but I requested a refund the same day and right after our phone conversation. I feel he is basically stealing my money and there is nothing I can do about it.
This company is doing things that don't seem right to me - just look at all his postings, and he leaves fake feedback for other elance contractors who he says he brings on as vendors - he says he brings them on as Vendors to market them to his clients.
I still don't understand how this works, and I want my money back. |

Hi,
I just got scammed on Elance by a client named Mark Rollag. He has 11 jobs posted and 7 awarded but hasn’t payed
a dollar so far and Elance lets him continue to post.
He convinced me he doesn’t know how Elance payment system works so I worked for a whole week and didn’t get paid.I gave him benefit of a doubt because he has a company called XTDirect and the web page.My advice is to always ask for the client to allow you to download Work view tracker and have it set on Auto pay (if the status instead of Auto pay is ”Not ready” Elance doesn’t cover you).I kept all the e-mails we exchanged, where he clearly states he is satisfied with my work and the last one where he says he can pay me anytime I want because he is a good and honest man.But when I tried to get the exact date and method of payment, I got no response. There is not much I can do now since I didn’t use the Work view tracker.I did contact Elance support and asked them why they allow such clients to post and award jobs but never actually pay anything. All I got was some stupid formal response. So be careful with hourly jobs. |
