Consumer reviews and reports on scam companies, bad products and services
Datalot Inc
Datalot Inc. Seth Whittman Did not pay us for our advertising efforts Brookklyn, New York
6th of Jul, 2011 by User753452
If you are an affiliate network, beware of this company. They will make up excuses to NOT only delay your affiliate network payment, but will also then turn around and just not pay you at all. Poor communication with updates, poor customer service, and very disorganized. The breakdown: We generated leads for this company in excess of 1K in profit. Granted its not a huge amount, but it is money that is owed to us. The profit was from the time we started working with this company up until May sometime. We were instructed to stop all traffic to the 2 offers that were available to us due to the leads supposedly "backing out". After careful research, it appears this company does this often with many different affiliate networks, however after talking to our account manager - "Seth Whittman", he instructed us that our payment would be sent out. He also instructed us to send him an invoice for the leads generated and told us that a payment would arrive in June since the billing would be done by the end of May. We never received this payment. After speaking to Seth again about the situation, he advised us that we would be receiving a payment no matter what but since the invoice was sent out the end of May, that we would get our payment by the end of June. June came around and still no payment at all the entire month. We decided to follow up once more the first week of July to get an update. During this time we were told that the payment can be delayed again for up to 45 more days. Comparisons with other companies with sending out late payments were made by Seth. He did rest assure though that we would "still" receive our payment. Over a few more days with no communication to the company, we decided to followup once more. After attempting this, we got no response via Phone or AOL Instant Messenger. We were then blocked by this company on AOL Instant Messenger. After a little research, we came across the CEO of the company and sent him an email in regards to our payment before taking any extra actions as this one. We were then sent an email stating that all of our leads were supposedly not legitimate, and there were no words about our pending payment or any proof of any "invalid" leads. If we had ALL invalid leads, a report should have been given from our account manager at the time of the invoice and information about our payment being short or not being sent out at all should have been sent to us. We were told by Seth that there is no reason for him to stiff our company, however after being blocked on AIM by him and having no real dates as to when we could receive our payment tells a different story. We just wanted this resolved professionally but obviously this couldn't happen.
