Dominion Towing
Dominion Towing - Illegal and negligent towing business Fairfax, Virginia
15th of Mar, 2011 by User310656
The HOA of the townhouses I live in has contracted Dominion Towing to tow any illegal parked cars in our street, as our street is by permit only. However, there a few spaces assigned for visitors that have a 6 hour maximum parking time frame without the need of a permit. These spaces are clearly marked on the pavement and with a sign. On 03/16/11 my daughter's car was towed from one of the visitor's spaces after 2 hours of being there. After my daughter's car was towed we called immediately, at first they argue that the car was parked illegally, but after several minutes of going back and forth they admit it that the driver was a “new” employee and had made a mistake. They wanted us to go and pick up the car and after pleading and letting them know we had no way of picking up the car and we needed (mother and daughter) to get to work, they finally agreed to bring the car back, but only after disrespecting me on the phone and after scratching it with a key on to the side of the passenger door. We have had numerous issues with this company. My husband's car was towed when we first moved in and we could not see the signs since this was right after the big snow storm of February 2010. Then it happened again when we were getting ready to go to the airport on August of 2010. This time they claimed the permit had fallen off the windshield rare view mirror. Then it happened to our friend who was parked in the visitor spot but we happen to catch them as they were getting ready to tow his car. They claimed the person was also new to the company. It happened to our painters who were carrying hazardous materials on January 2010 (prior to us moving in), and today it happened again with our daughter’s car. This company has been harassing us for a year now. They are unprofessional, unethical, extremely rude and disrespectful, not to mention negligent. A car can be damaged when being towed, not to mention the stress they put you through and the time you have to spend resolving their mistakes.

and you are not the only one my friend, my car was towed by Dominion for expired tags, however they damaged my cars suspension and it is now not driveable. They were negligent in how they handled the tow and improperly towed my car from where it was parallel parked and damaged the under carriage. I will file a complaint with fairfax county since Dominion has agreed to mediate all complaints. If I do not get a favorable decision I will proceed with a lawsuit. Many cases and complaints have been submitted towards there company and they are very unfair, negligent, unprofessional and careless in what they do.
