|Ordered Roketa dune buggy, Dec. 2009, as Christmas present to son. Received unit and mechanic and I assembled. Worked fine and looked good. Drove on Christmas morning fine. Things went downhill from then on. Carburetor wasn't getting fuel. Filled out "Help Ticket" then got the runaround. |
Called and spoke with mechanic with Roketa and explained situation. Order a new carb from them. Received it and the same thing happened. Called back and spoke with same mechanic and was told to get a new carb with a rectifier. Was successful in getting this under warranty with GoKartsUSA by letting them know we had contacted Roketa's mechanic.
Received parts and replaced them and while test driving it the rear axle/driveshaft fell out and would not stay when replaced and the cooolant reservoir was leaking. Talked with same mechanic since it was easier to get in touch with him instead of GoKartsUSA runaround phone system and "help ticket". Did what he suggested but it did not stay in. Contacted GoKartsUSA via the "help ticket" and then by marathon phone calling (always a busy signal). This was the first part of March. Never received part. Received a copy of email between the companies repeatedly requesting help with this part and assistance for customer.
By April 21st, emailed them to please check status of part. On the 28th of April spoke with them again about part that was requested in March. Told them that our patience had worn thin and that the unit was unuseable and warranty was ticking away. We had lost faith in it and he said to ship it back and gave address to return the unit to. Once we had shipping information to let them know, which we did. Unit was received and signed for on May 6th. Returned dune buggy with approx. 50 miles on odometer.
I called on May 19th and spent 5 minutes trying different extensions to talk with someone but to no avail. I emailed and told them we hadn't heard anything from them and was checking on credit due on credit card. Credit card company said to geive them 15 days to apply, which we did, and then we initiated a chargeback. Unfortunately the credit card company sided with them and recharged us for something we had been given permission to return and for a product that was obviously defective.
I have repeatedly tried calling to talk with person that gave permission to return but he is NEVER available. One time I pretended to have questions about a potential order and got to talk with someone! Told them all of above and requested information about the credit due, told him it felt like they were trying to steal my money, he put me on hold, someone else got on the phone and told me credit had already been issued and I needed to call my credit card company. Then he hung up on me while I was trying to get his name, date of credit, etc.
I filled out info with the BBB. They got no response from company. I have since emailed many times requesting the information about the "supposed credit" that had already been issued of which my credit card company has no record.
