I bought a pup from Joe Chisolm last April.. 5 pups for sale, only one looked like a real Golden.. The others looked like a Golden/ ? mix. There was also a4 month old dog there who had been returned due to agressivness. She had scrapes on her face which were explained as a run in with a fence..(?) I asked to see the parent dogs, but Joe said they were in the east bay and he was selling them as a favor.

I went along cautiously.. of all the dogs, I picked the one who was quiet and shy. That dog cost me $650. Joe also gave me pills and syringes with liquid in bottles. I took the pup to my vet in Sausalito who informed me the dog was sick with Giardia andCoccidia. He looked at the pills, and syringes and threw it all out saying it was garbage. Little did I know, the dog was quiet and shy because he was so sick.

It took a while to get the "pedigree papers".. They were from a breeder up in Washington ( I turned all the paperwork over to Golden Retriever Rescue). I was told the papers were not legit. I did not bond with this dog until he was about 7 months old. We get along great now. he is 11 months old. Doesn't look like a Golden, has a dark coat and a very pointy nose.

Now I have a nice dog, but it was touch and go for the first half of his life. Alot of grief for the $650 + vet bills.
