After placing an out of state add offering to sell two antique books I was e-mailed by a mister John M.Carosiello telling me to consider them sold and that he would send me a certified cashiers check for $80 above the asking price. He also asked not to ship them and that he would have his mover contact me when the check cleared. I also noticed that he tried to scam someone else in the same manner.

Was almost scammed by him as well. Had a Gasket Machine up for sale, offered us the additional 80.00 but came up with the excuse his mover was an a accident and he had a new shipping company that would be picking up the machine. He stated the the company wanted the money to ship the item up front and he would be sending an additional 2, 000.00 to us to send to the shippers which made sense being he said he was in AZ and the machine weighs about 100 pounds. Took the check to my bank to verify the check and funds. They had to have me deposit it and wait until the following day for the funds to clear. Called the bank back to see when the funds would clear and if everything seemed good. Was then told it was a counterfeit check!! NOTHING BUT A SCAMMER. SELLERS BEWARE!!
