Lee Myles Transmission Egan Automotive Inc. ripped me off $800 by replacing the PCM,(programmable computer module; failed to notify that car not fixe
28th of Sep, 2011 by User567564
My 2002 PT Cruiser would not pass inspection due to Check Engine light, brake light, ABS, track light, and parking light warning lights. A general mechanic suggested that it was a problem with the PCM. Not knowing anything about auto PCM's, I was at the mercy of whatever mechanic I could find to fix the problem. After calling around Lee Myles (Egan Transmissions) in Birdsboro, PA assured me that they could fix the issue. The mechanic called me inquiring about the issues with the car. I told him exactly what the problem was. He indicated that he would fix it. I was called several days later and told my car was "ready". The bill was $800 and I had no way to pay that amount immediately. I made 3 trips over the next 2 wks to make payments on the car since they would not work out a payment plan. On the 3rd trip, when making final payment, I was told that the replacement of the PCM did not affect any change. All lights were still lit! They had NOT fixed the car in any way, shape or form and would not take any responsibility for it! They NOW wanted to "diagnose" it for an additional $150! Despite their error in "fixing" the car, they would not waive the diagnostic fee nor reduce any portion of my bill. SHADY CHARACTERS FOR SURE!!!!!
