MoneyPak Green Dot, Green Dot MoneyPak, Green Dot Corporation Stole my paycheck, won't deliver the funds, excels in stupid excuses Monrovia, Californi
20th of Sep, 2011 by User211920
Last payday I purchased two Green Dot MoneyPak cards at CVS Pharmacy. I put $500 on each. There was a separate register receipt for each card. I then went to the MoneyPak reload web site to transfer the money to my debit card. The first one went through just fine, but the second one would not transfer. I got different error messages each time I tried. I finally called some guy in Elbonia who couldn't understand a word I said, and vice versa. What I did understand him to say, is that he could plainly see on his computer that there had been a "complication" with the card at CVS. He gave me a ticket number, and promised that someone would call me back. What a surprise it was when they didn't! And you can't get a refund from the store that took your money. For a week and a half, now, they've been demanding faxed receipts; then pretending they didn't get them, even though I have the confirmation pages. They actually cancelled the ticket when I sent them the receipt they asked for, but changed their minds and wanted the other receipt, instead. They've told me that they put a hold on the card because there was "a lot of fraud" at that CVS, which would probably surprise CVS. They've told me that it was a computer glitch. They've repeatedly said they would call me back, but never do. They've changed ticket numbers on me. The only thing they haven't done is transfer the money. That $500 was half my paycheck. I need it to pay bills, buy gas and groceries, keep the car from being repossessed, &c. What is wrong with these people? Now it's almost payday again, and I certainly won't be reloading my card with another Green Dot MoneyPak, when I can't get Green Dot Corporation to honor the one I have! I wonder how many English-speaking Americans don't have jobs right now because this shady company has outsourced its "customer service" to a land far, far away, where everyone makes so much money, they don't actually need their paychecks? It seems to me that if the first guy I talked to could see there was a problem, could tell which receipt went with which card, and already knew the phone number of the CVS Pharmacy where the card was purchased, he certainly could have resolved the problem. That they have been running me around in circles, and making me jump through endless hoops since then, strongly suggests that I will never see that money again. And they know very well that there is nothing I can do about it. Shame on Green Dot Corparation!
