National Payment Network Misappropiated Funds San Mateo , California |
11th of May, 2011 by User519486 |
On March 27th, 2011 I purchased a vehicle from a car dealership in my home state of Arizona. As part of the purchase, I also ( foolishly, I admit), enrolled in a "Biweekly Plan Agreement" with the National Payment Network. They were supposed to forward payments to the bank that financed my vehicle, with deductions from a checking account of mine. Pursuant to this agreement, they DID withdraw funds twice, but when the due date came for payment # 1 to post, alas, no payment had posted. After a phone call, it became evident that this company was either totally incompetent, or outright thieves. I made a second call after they failed to return my first, I also reported them to the BBB in thier area. After making a payment of my own ( I didn't want to be late with my first payment!), I phoned them again, and told them I wanted to cancel, and wanted all funds refunded to me. I was assured this would occur the early part of next week. I also informed them that I would notify the FBI ( seems like Federal Wire Fraud), and the California Attourney Generals Office. My advice is: Don't enroll in any such plan. If you want to, it is easy to make biweekly payments direct to a lender, or via your own bank. Avoid the National Payment Network !!! 205 DeAnza Blvd, #94 San Mateo, CA, 94402 |

I ran into similiar issues with this company. I foolishly took the bi weekly payment plan as well while purchasing my car in 2009. I paid off the loan and NPN continued to take out money from my bank account until I called to inform them my loan was paid off. Then to add to this they charged my $25 to cancel my account. I will say that yes, this is all probably in their contract but when buying a car it would take hours to go thorugh all the papers they want you to sign. If you ever buy a car, take your time and do not be pressured into enrolling in something like this no matter WHAT YOUR DEALER SAYS! They count on you just going with everything they throw at you (and it is a lot of paperwork to sign when buying a new car) I foolishly did and basically they don't do anything for you you cannot do on your own. Today it is easy to set up electronic payments with your lender directly or your bank, there is no need to have them do it for you and charge you for this service. I can only imagine they are financially hanging on by a thread and the only way for them to survive is to have customers sign while pressured and not think about what they are getting. I am dissapointed in myself for signing up with them and dissapointed in my dealer for dealing with such an unneccesary company. |
