National Power Supply Sold an

My company purchase a "complete engine" from National Power Supply. A gentleman named Bob Schmidt took our information and found us a motor. Or so we thought. He had 2 engines to choose from. A brand new remanufactured engine for $15,000.00 or an almost new with less than 100,000 miles that was remanufactured for another customer and then pulled out of truck due to wrecked truck for $9,000.00. We opted for the used since we were told it was in such great condition.

Bob told us that the motor was in great shape and before it was sent to us it was to be dynoed and ecm flashed to our engine specifications. The engine was supposed to be a direct match to our engine with matching CPL codes and the ECM flashed to 525hp and jakes. We hurried on the 23rd of December, 2010 to have a bank wire transfer sent so that engine would be sent out before holiday closings. We thought all was good.

On Wednesday Dec 29th we contacted National Power supply and was send to Dave in shipping status #4 on menu; to get update on when engine would arrive. We were told that shipper closed on Thursday and engine did not ship out till Monday Dec 27th, 2010. We were told that engine was in a deep part of Montana and would take a couple of days to hit the main stream. We received a shipping pro number for the company that was shipping the engine. When I went on the web site to check the status the pro number did not work. So I called the shipping company.

I was told that there was no information on this shipment. I was also told that they did not close down on Thursday the 23rd they close Friday the 24th. The lady on the other end of the phone for the shipping company told me that the pro number was good but no information nor shipment had been sent yet. So I called back to National Power supply.

After getting the run around I threatened to call the federal authorities and finally Dave called back. He stated that the pro number was good and to give it a couple of days. After the New year holiday I contacted the shipper again. She stated that the package was to be picked up on the 7th of January, 2011. So it did not ship again when they stated. Finally the engine was on its way on January 7th. (We should have had it by then). The lady at the shipping company hot freighted the engine across the United States to the Maryland on the east coast. It was delayed one day due to weather and we received engine on January 24th, 2011. When it showed up and was unloaded from truck it was not close to a "complete" engine. It showed up with a Walmart paint job and the paint was sprayed over dust, dirt, oil and grease. It had a layer of dirt on it about 1/2" thick so we had to pressure wash.

After the pressure washing, almost ALL paint had chipped away with dirt, grease, and such. We discovered that ECM was missing, and no Dyno report was included in the package. We started to worry so we took off valve covers. We discovered that the #5 injector had broken spring and the pass through connector was destroyed. The engine was rusted through the oil pan and all engine rusted. It was missing exhaust bolts and turbo fins were damaged. This engine would take another $5,000 to fix to working condition.

We got on the phone right away and tried to contact Bob or Dave to complain and get a refund and send engine back. We were told that all employees had left for the holiday and we would get a return call on Monday 17th January, 2011. We had Bob's direct line and so we called his phone. He answered the phone and when he found out who it was he told us that he would have to contact someone at the company and get right back to us.

Here it is Monday January 17th, we still have no return call and the gentleman at National Power Supply says that all managers are off till tomorrow the 18th. We are sick of being screwed around and would like a full refund of our purchase price and shipping fees.
