Unauthorized shipping charges

My aunt got sucked into ordering Paint Zoom and had it shipped to me. I didn't want it and called to find out how to return it. Looking at the packing slip, I saw she was charged $99.95 for the device, with a $19.95 shipping charge. Included in the box were 3 "free" containers which cost an additional $9.95 for shipping, even though they came in the same box. I understand "Handling", but really? Fine, so there's $29.90 wasted on "shipping". There was an additional charge for Rush Delivery, which was $9.95.

After asking my aunt whether she'd requested Rush Delivery, she said she did not. In fact, when she was asked, she gave them a definitive NO. I pointed this out to the CS rep whom I could barely understand because surprise, the call center is in India. Finally, I was able to get the CS rep to look into the order in terms of the fraudulent charge. He told me their records show Rush Delivery was requested because it said so on the form. I claimed that all the "form" proved was that someone checked that box, not that my aunt had actually requested it.

I then asked for proof of what was being claimed in the form of a recorded conversation when the order was placed. I was told that the form said right there, that Rush Delivery was requested. I again pointed out that checking a box on a form does not mean the customer requested it. The rep hung up on me. I called back and was yelled at, then was hung-up on again.

I mailed the box back to Paint Zoom today. Total shipping cost to me? $10.00 and it will arrive in 1 day. The Paint Zoom company is the lowest form of criminal. They steal money from elderly or gullible consumers, then vanish or become unreachable. Unfortunately, the government does nothing about this. There is no recourse for the consumer. Paint Zoom is not in business to provide a good product at a fair price. The product itself is worthless. Paint Zoom is simply a company that makes its money by charging ridiculous shipping rates for worthless crap, adding on unauthorized charges, then sticking it to the consumer.

Stay the hell away from Paint Zoom. It is a company without a conscience.
