Hello all.


I wanted to bring attention to a company I have recently been involved with that has "ripped" me off. The company url is


So here it is completely from the beginning. On 12/31/2010 I went online to google and searched for Cat5E 25 pair Plenum wiring. I found thousands of options, one in particular struck me as cheap and was so I went to their site. Their site, although very hard on the eyes and not so easy to navigate pictured thousands and listed a ton of products all to do with telecommunications for the most part.


I ordered 2 cases or 2x Hitachi 30203-50 Cat5E 25 pair Plenum 1000ft cable for the listed price of $7.77 per case totaling $15.54. The price listed was for 1000ft case/box. I then went through paypal to make payment, the shipping turned out to be $64.31 due to 2 cases or 2x 68.9 lbs. a piece boxes/cases of cable. I completed the transaction for $79.85.


On Saturday 01/01/2011 I went back to their site and found item # 30172-100 Hitachi 50 Pair Riser Cat5 1000ft case/box for $7.77. I completed through paypal and additionally the shipping ended up $46.12 for 75.4 lbs shipment or one case weight. total payment of $53.89.


On Monday morning 01/03/2011 I received an email on both orders stating the price was for 1 ft. of cable in each order, so 2ft. on the first order and 1ft. on the second and wanted me to confirm the order. I sent a return email explaining the adds and orders stated 1000ft case/box not per foot pricing as their updated suggested. I went to their site then, verified that I was correct, I took printscreens of all pages involved and copied them to excel at that time. I then contacted their support online through their "live person help" and spoke with Jay. During the conversation I explained to Jay what was going on. He stated the pricing had to be per foot, I took him directly to the links so he could see for himself.


He then stated "there was no way I could force them to send me the product at that price" and "that he would cancel and refund the orders immediately". I stated I did not want a refund I wanted the products I ordered. He then ended the session. They then sent me an email on each order stating the "item was no longer available" That was the reasoning they put on paypal when they issued the refund. Upon seeing this I went back to their site and funny enough the items were no longer listed on the site. (However keep reading and find out what I did find.)


Once he did that I called their customer service number. Once I called the number I waited for 10 minutes to get on the phone with the first person who ended up being from sales and was unable to pull up my order.(strange in itself, a salesman couldnt pull up my order?) He was however good enough to listen to my complaint and at least send me to another person. I left a message on the next persons answering machine.


Side note to this: During my first call to customer service and explaining the situation to the gentleman they had already pulled the products from their site. While on the phone I found an additional item Hitachi 30093-50 Cat5E 25 pair Riser cable for $5.58 per case. I ordered that case while on the phone with him and paid an additional $19.14 for shipping. It was also listed at 1000ft case not a per foot basis.( They cancelled this order as well stating no longer available 1 hour after)


4 hours later no call back to me, had me getting irritated. I called back and finally got through to what I guess was the main man in charge Arvind. He explained to me over and over "it was not going to be shipped and that I could not make them ship me the product for that price." He then went on to tell me to "steal money from another merchant" and that "their system is automated and mistakes happen" I explained to him there were hundreds of other items on their site like these and that if it were automated how did my order get caught and not sent? If it were completely automated my orders would be in shipment to me now I would assume.


I spoke with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and filed my complaint with them. The original agent for BBB out of Virginia where I am located stated that in the past retailers/online retailers were liable to honor the first of an item and or case etc. at the price they listed but any number above 1 item/case etc. would have to be at full price. I have not found any evidence that this is law or can be upheld as true and or fact. Anyone know???


The company is out of California, Sunnyvale. I am not sure what there is if anything I can do, all I know is online prices and advertising has very little if any laws protecting consumers from false advertising practices, incorrect pricing/shipping etc. I have completed literally thousands of transactions over online purchasing, products etc. and I have never had a company act as this one. To be completely honest this is the first company I have ever looked at and reported to the BBB and listed my complaint online to a site such as this. I intend to complete a report on any site I can find dealing with "ripoffs", "scams", "crooks" etc.


I cannot keep any of you from purchasing from this company however I would just like to warn you, and get you to think before you purchase. If you are like me and are in need of a product within a time frame re-think this company. At any time they can decide the price online is not what they want for the item, cancel your order, refund you and you are not going to receive the product you expected on the date you expected. I am having to order and overnight ship the product I need now as a result to this, wich is costing me an additional $2900.00 for product and an additional $301.00 to overnight ship it to me.


In the end, pricing online should be governed. We need legislature for businesses online to protect us as consumers. Right now there is little we can do to stop companies from practicing pricing and advertising as this. We will keep falling victim to companies online unless there are rules and regulations implemented for online companies.
