Stay AWAY. Michael Orand of Sweet Home Improvements is nothing more than a con
man. Michael Orand promised us the world so to speak and did nothing more than steal our money. He started the roof and did and incomplete roof and the parts that were done was shoddy at best. The only thing SWEET about this company is Michaelâ€™s line of false promises. The man is smooth operator but a liar. On the third day of work,he came in the house and told us that the work was done, filled out some paperwork ,took his final check and left. What he did was ONLY the parts of the roof that we can see form ground level. HE LEFT THE original roof or bare wood on parts that were hidden from view at ground level. Further we paid him to remove the box vents and install a ridge vent. He simply installed the ridge vent without cutting the sheathing to allow for ventilation; never sealed the cutouts where the box vents were; never removed the debris from the roof and never replaced the vent boots. Moreover on the areas that were done much of the shingles were installed backwards. Needless to say on the first rain, we discovered all of his errors and his con. We have filed complaints with the local police who are investigating this man. The man is not competent and is a thief. We asked a family member to check him out and it turns out that he is an ex con from Florida that has a very substantial criminal record ranging from burglary, aggravated assault, domestic abuse, theft and many other crimes. My family member then contacted him under the guise of needing some work on his house and invited him over his house to estimate the project. Once there, my family mebmer explained why he really invited him over. Michael Orand apologized, invoked god's name and said he was praying about the issue for weeks. Right. He pretends to be a Christian businessman but is nothing more than a liar and thief. He promised the return of the money and even left his car title as proof of his sincerity. Gone. Never to me heard firm again. We have filed a criminal complaint with the police and filed a civil suit as well. DO NOT USE HIM and if you were taken by him call the local police and file a criminal complaint.
