We bought a new van that came with an xm radio when purchased we had 6 months free which would automatically discountinue when done. We did not renew our subscription XM called us continously to try to get us to renew but their prices are too high for radio that we don't listen to that much. Finally, we gave in when they offered us a five month plan for around 20 dollars we agreed.
When our five months was up the service was discountinued as before. Two months later on May 9th I recieve a bill that says it will be late on May 3rd for 30.67. I call them to ask why we even got a bill in the first place since they had discounted our service over 2 months ago. They said it was our responsibility to call them to cancel and tell them our service was not working. But as I explained to them we never agreed to a contract past the 5 months and did not have any service anyways they first offered me another special when I refused and just wanted the bill took care of they hung up on me.
I then called back and was told we had been turned over to a collection agency and that they would no longer deal with us. Now the bill is 35.67 because of a 5 dollar late fee. Just remember as you read this we didn't even have the service nor agree to a monthly fee being charged to us. Do not deal with XM do not let them trick you. I was reading the bill I recieved today that was already 5 days late it says that if your bill goes past 30 days you automatically owe and they will not work with you on fixing it. They say they sent me one last month if and I say if they did I did not recieve it nor would I have been looking for it since I no longer had the service so there they are a scam of a company with absolutely no customer service. Please do not do business with them do not allow them to do what they did to us.
