SMC Equestrian Chris White Shannon Etengoff Law Suit for $3000 Lockport, New York

I boarded my horses at SMC Equestrian From May 19,2011 until August 13,2011. I gave them a 30 day notice that I was moving my horses out on August 3,2011 verbally and in writing. On August 13, 2011 the gave me a 24 hour notice to remove my horses. Then they filed a $3000 lawsuit for Loss of Profit, specifying "loss of horse sale, over use of horse bedding and defamation. We went to court on October 6th. Chris White showed up but not Shannon Etengoff. He asked for a postponement because she had just been released from the hospital (actually it was Oct 1st) and she had all the information needed to proceed with the case. The judge set a new date of December 1, 2011. On December 1st they did not show up in court. Their claim was dismissed and my counterclaim was awarded. Today, December 3rd, I received the official notification that a judgement has been filed in my favor. I can't believe that they filed a suit when I followed the letter of the boarding contract.
