Steeltown Motors Matthew Molnar: Owner, Steeltown Motors Gregg and Miah crooked, Liars, Scam. Sign on car read
20th of Nov, 2010 by User326767
On Nov. 1 2010, I purchased a used (as is)1997 Pontiac Sunfire. I desperately needed a cheap car to get back and forth to work. The Pontiac looked fairly decent, and on the drivers front window read "Great Winter Car." I remember asking the salesman Gregg if there were any major problems with the car: engine, fuel pump etc.. He assured me there were no major problems!! I got in the car revved the engine, heard a rattle and was told it was only the clip/flap? on the air condition that could easily be fixed. Gregg also told me that there was a clip? on the muffler that was loose and could be tightened. I asked this salesman at least five times if there were any major problems, and he repeatedly stated No!I also told him I needed this car to take my seriously disabled daughter to the doctor. He again assured it was safe. He came across very caring and honest, so I purchased the car. He told me he would never lie to me, gave me his & mechanics cell phone number to assure that he was
honest and sincere. I left to purchase temp license and returned to get a price on air condition/muffler repair. The mechanic (Miah) told me that it was not the air condition, but a clip on the steering column. He said the entire steering colum would have to be replaced $200+. I was very upset and stated I would never had purchased the car had I known there were major problems. I wanted my money back, but was told I could trade for another car. I saw a decent Mazda Protege for $1200 and was told by Miah to call the owner, Matthew Molnar. I called Matthew, was told I could upgrade and to come by that Friday. I told Mr. Molnar I could not take off again and I could come Saturday at 1:00
afternoon. He said that was ok, and he would hold the car for me till then. On Saturday I rushed and was there on time only to find out that the car had been sold to another customer the day before! Gregg stated that Matthew and his father had argued over the sale. I was offered a raggedy van and I think an Oldsmobile, of course I declined. I attempted to call Mr. Molnar repeatedly to get my money back. he never responded. I called Gregg and he said to pick up the car. Long story short. I took car for diagnostic, heres the list: Junk, engine shot, frame cracked, fuel pump bad, transmission bad, wheels bent from previous accident, Etc.. The mechanic told me the car was too dangerous to drive! I cried. I purchased the car as is only because my husband & daughter purchased cars from Steeltown Motors (may be new name) in the past with no major problems. The previous owner, Gene was always honest about any problems a car had. I thought the new owner Matthew Molnar & the salesman Gregg were honest as well. only to find out that I was deceived and outright lied to.
