Questionable unethical business practices

Like so many other students who have filed complaints on this website & others like it in regards to the practices and policies of Strayer University I too have had nothing but problems with the staff since my second semester. Honestly I find it hard to even refer to them as a university, because they are far from it. I transferred from a creditable, professional, traditional university to Strayer. I was attracted to the nontraditional atmosphere of Strayer which better suited me than other universities Ive attended. Convenience isnt worth all the problems Ive experienced in the past and the ones Im currently experiencing as well. The first semester was fine everything went according to what I was told by the admissions officer, after that semester Ive had problem after problem and they all seem to be in regards to my financial aid. The administrative staff at the Huntsville Campus is anything but competent. They dont respond to any communication attempts from students, but they are quick to send you an email when its time to register for an upcoming semester with no problems. When I go up to the office to address any issues, they run like little cockroaches. Ive had problems with them getting my Federal Pell Grants and loans but holding the different (refund) for almost a month or two. This is very unusual and shouldnt be going on. Ive attended enough schools to know when one isnt on the up and up. Not only that but theyve made two different attempts to keep a portion of my refunds, and if I wouldnt have noticed it an addressed the discrepancy they would have done just that. They always seem to blame the 3rd party lenders for any issues with my financial aid, but Ive learned that its always on their end. Last semester it took me weeks of communicating with another states campus director to get the matter resolved and the additional funds owed to me. Here it is another semester and Im going through the same thing. Why? Because someone in the finical aid office at my local campus messed my account up and didnt do my financial aid correctly. This semester has been worst in every way. I say that because the term started on Apr 4, 2011 and its now June 1, 2011 and I still havent received my refund for this term. Ive tried contacting the gentleman who took action and got the matter fixed last time but he is no longer over this region. The gentleman, who is now, has his assistant working on the matter, instead of, doing it himself and nothing has been done. He is waiting on the people at my local campus to fix it, but they are the ones who caused the problems in the first place. My patience has run beyond thin; Im frustrated, and regret ever taking one class with Strayer. Im paying all this money for 2 classes per semester and I cant even have confidence in the professionalism and proficiency of the local campus staff Im suppose to deal with. I plan on filing a claim against them with the Department of Education because they are paying them federal funds that the school is mismanaging and trying to keep from the students. Dont bother with this establishment; they are nothing like a university so I want use that term to describe them. Save your money and your time.
