So while searching on line for a good deal on an alignment, I found this scam report on Brakes Plus :
http://www.ripoffreport.com/auto-repair-service/brakes-plus/brakes-plus-attempted-to-rip-m-2778j.htm It explained that the person went in for an alignment and was told they needed Ball Joints instead? The person goes on to explain they went to Firestone, and received great services and the car did not need Ball Joints. So
I thought I would just deal with people I know to avoid this? I called Discount (Where I bought my tires) and low and behold they don't do alignments? Which seemed pretty weird for a Tire retailer. Andy on the phone said we recommend any of the 3 places next to us that do them. I asked who was the cheapest and he said Brakes Plus? OH OK? Si I go to their web site and see a price of $58 with a $5 dollar coupon that brings it too $53. I print the coupon and call the next cheapest which was Tire Pro and ask if they Price match. Mick answered and says to get your business we will? Oh that was way to easy, so I say I will be right there and out the door I go. When I got there, mick was on the phone, so I dealt with another person, who's name I can't recall - Too Bad... After waiting 45 mins (there was no one else there?) The person I was dealing with (Not Mick) comes out and says Sorry Mr XXXXX it looks like your going to need Ball Joints and we recommend doing the whole assembly for $400? LOL, I couldn't have hit the door fast enough. My Vehicle is a 2007 Durango, that I bought new... I use it extensively but all it's maintenance is up to date... So the vehicle is taking care of... Having a ball joint go seemed like something that shouldn't happen to my rig so soon. So home I go to read the scam report, and the my ordeal seems to mirror it? So I call Firestone, just like the person in the original scam report. They are so busy I have to make an appointment~~~Gee I guess there's a reason they are busy? So the next day I show up and talk to Gary the manager of Firestone in Gilbert : http://www.firestonecompleteautocare.com/ He says should be about 45 mins to complete, and the office is super busy... OK after a few mins he comes out and says everything is fine, you don't need Ball Joints but we do recommend a few other maintenance items your rig is due for... No Problem I said, please do them. He advised it wouldn't even take any longer because the rig was already up on the lift... Too Cool. So I left Firestone with a smile and my truck again up to date on Maintenance... Firestone after hearing my ordeal
gave me $20 off the (Life Time) Alignment, that I felt confident in purchasing from them, and $10 dollars each of the services they did for me... Couldn't beat their price or service, I made new friends well at the office too... I couldn't have had a better outcome... In
the end I spend $330 but got much more services then Tire Pros was offering... Best Wishes and Buyer beware!
