I recently bought a 2000 Ford Expedition from Carhop/UAC June fo 2011. I understand that the company exists to help consumers with little to no credit, to those with poor credit. I however, believe they are out there to prey on these consumers as well. I bought this vehicle to rebuild my credit and to have a reliable vehicle to transport my family. In less than a month, I had serious mechanical problems with my purchase. I lost all brakes, no not just some, all of my braking system and the abs light came on. I called the service department to let them know I was sitting on the side of the road with no stopping power at all. The customer service representive put me on hold for a long time and told me to call back in about an hour. I attempted to call back but found, that it being a friday, they closed the phone lines right about the time I was told to call back! I was not happy. I had to towed to my house and called them back on a Monday. I was then told it was not covered under warranty. I ate the cost and replaced the master cylinder and all the brake pads and rotors (all were shot). About a week after that, I had a blow out with my driver rear tire. I changed the rear tire with the spare tire that came with the SUV. I come to find out, a mile down the road, that the spare tire does not properly fit the vehicle! I found this out as my vehicle came down hard on the back rear and the spare went rolling past me!! I and my family were very lucky I was slowing to a stop as it decided to seperate. I found out later that the spare tire was used or not designed for the vehicle and had to replace the rotor, the lug nut studs, and lug nuts that had got sheared off or crushed. I have extensive rear body damage because of this as well. I again called them, to no avail, it was not under warranty. I took the vehicle to a professional to have all the tires looked at, and ate the cost on four new tires, a spare tire, spare tire rims, lug nuts, lug nut studs, and an alignment. What next?! I think I have spent every week since then fixing something that the mechanics (do they have any such thing) should have caught before selling this to anybody! It has scarred my wife so badly she's afraid she'll die in this vehicle. I highly recommend considering not doing business with CarHop or UAC, customer service is not there to serve the customer, but only serve themselves. Each and every time I call it is nothing but rudeness.
