Recently I received an email thanking me for my inquiry to a job position as a 'home based' shipping point for packages coming in from over seas or going out to over seas. The initial email in it's entirety is posted below. The initial email came with two attachments, a application.doc and EmploymentAgreement.pdf. More on those later.

Hello XXXXXXX XXXXXXXX, <-(my name)

Thank you for expressing interest in our exciting employment opportunity.

Please read over the following brief to familiarize yourself with our company and your responsibilities as a successful candidate for this position. You will also find a link to the company website in the application enclosed with this letter to help in understanding what we do.

About Us.

USA Postal Multi-Services Inc. is an online service that helps our customers send and receive correspondence and parcels to anywhere in the USA, as well as track postal deliveries online. We deal mainly with companies from overseas that have customers in the USA, those who travel on a regular basis and foreigners that buy and sell goods in America. Our ever growing and expanding company continuously adds new services, from mail forwarding to fully monitoring and managing your postal deliveries online. We regularly introduce new technologies and innovations into our system, our company strongly believes in the work at home system because it allows us to eliminate warehousing costs and provide shipping points from across the USA.

Your Responsibilities.

This is your opportunity to be one of our work at home employees. Your responsibilities will include accepting, processing and forwarding parcels and letters sent to your home address. This includes, printing shipping labels, invoices, and taking photos of the contents of each package. You can expect deliverers from USPS, DHL, UPS, and FedEx to your home address during regular business hours from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM daily. Using your online account at our company’s website, you will find a list of incoming shipments, your daily work tasks, and the prepaid shipping labels for forwarding the letters and parcels. The process is simple and easy and being that the shipping labels are prepaid, you will not incur any out of pocket expenses or have the need to fill out any documents or forms. The only tools you will need to supply is a home computer with a printer and a digital camera. You will also need transportation for delivering the letters and parcels to the relevant courier’s offices in a timely manner.

For the position of our work at home employee, we require people that can work independently and are able to maintain regular contact with us by phone and email. Compensation for this position is $36,000 annually and will be paid monthly. Being a home based position, with a flexible schedule you are able to work effectively in a stress free environment. This is NOT a part-time position and you will NOT be able to combine this work with another full-time job, as this IS a full-time responsibility.

Safe and Secure.

Rest at ease, you will be safe and secure while working for us. You will NOT be handling hazardous materials or illegal contraband. Every customer goes through a careful and complete verification process, in fact, the parcels usually contain everyday items such as, electronics, clothing, auto parts or sporting goods. While working for us, you will be inspecting the majority of parcels yourself. We handle only fully paid shipments and we never deal with any customers that cannot be verified as a legitimate business and have a valid reason for using our services. This is all clarified during our phone interviews with the customers and at which time they must send us two types of ID as well as a 1583 form signed by a notary.

Your Next Step.

Please find attached the application form, fill it out and return it to us via email (please do not fax it). You should get acquainted with the draft of your employment agreement which is also attached. After we receive your application form, we will provide you with further information and a detailed list of your daily duties. Should you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us.

This is a seemingly legitimate job, but I thought I would look it up on Ripoff Report. Apparently, this is a brand new scam because there is no listing for it anywhere on the internet.

So I went searching for this companies website. I mean, if your going to have a web based company, you should have a full website. I found 2 websites for this company. The first website >> << is very crude and makes me think SCAM all the way! Then I found this site >> << and started to second think my first thought.

The problem arose when I tried to use the contact phone number that I found on the site. It starts out seemingly harmless, stating the company name and using an automated directory to help you out. I found that no matter what number you push, you get a few seconds of music and then it automatically hangs up on you.

I did a search on the name of the director of the business. I found this person is a 58r old female and owns a few other businesses. I'm going to assume, for now, that this identification is either stolen or used for other scams besides this one.

I looked over the Employment Agreement and the Application. I found that, for a job that deals with such personal items as postal mail and packages, the application was very short and lacked the details a company would need to make sure that the person they are hiring is real and not a criminal.

Then Employment Agreement wasn't even what I really expected. It had a lot of words but lacked the authoritative tone and feel that you would expect when your going to be working with the delicate information that you would be subjected to.

If you have ever applied to FedEx or USPS or UPS, you know that they are no nonsense and have strict guidelines you need to adhere to. They also have an extensive background check and process, just to be considered for employment. This company lacks all of that.

By now all I see are hugh red flags and red flashing lights. On curiosity alone, I filled out the application and sent it in. And I received an email back, welcoming me aboard! This new email came with 4 attachments; Appointment letter.doc, EmploymentAgreement.pdf, i-9.pdf, and W4.pdf.

Again, this is all seemingly legit, but I have my suspicions. They want me to print out the documents, fill them out and fax them to them.

Here is the Appointment letter.doc

I noticed that there was no actual phone number for the first company on this form, and now there is a second company with a whole new website and phone number. So I called the new phone number, hoping to get some info on this other company. To no surprise, this new number is disconnected. Big shocker there. Even though this new website is very elaborate and seems like it could be a real business, I'm going to assume it's a front also.

BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY: Even though this is as far as I have gone in pursuit of this job offer, I don't feel like being Ripped off at this time. So I filed a tip with the FBI on this company. I'm hoping to hear something from them and/or anyone on this site that has gone any further than I have with this.

Take care and keep yourselves safe,
