Verizon billed for back up & security, they did not save my files! St Petersburg, Florida

Been a Verizon customer for 3+ years. Ordered phone services (Freedom Essentials), Verizon DSL and Direct TV. First this was supposed to be $136 per month for all 3 services. Not once has it been $136, instead it's been anywhere from $145 to $179.80 for three services that were supposed to be "flat rate" of $136. The DSL is the problem and has been the problem. First of all, I've had to replace the Verizon provided modem 4 times in 3 years (one didn't work right out of the box when they sent it to me). So, I'm paying a monthly fee for the modem plus "insurance"on it so I don't get charged an arm and a leg everytime their modem fails. Plus about every 4 months I "lose" my modem connection and can't get online. The only way to fix it is to spend hours on the phone with tech support for them to "reset" the account. This has resulted in WEEKS of no online, but I still get charged for the time even if I can't use it! About 2 years ago, I added Verizon's Security & Backup which was $4.95 per month, then shortly went to $9.98 per month. I wanted only the Backup since I use McAfee for Security. Got told it was only packaged and I couldn't get just the Backup. In January 2010, my computer got fried. Starting in February 2010, I have tried to retrieve the files saved on Backup. For over a YEAR, I have tried to retrieve these files. First it wouldn't let me access Backup (several sessions with tech support); then it timed out when I tried to download the files (more sessions with tech support), then I got "we're updating our server, try back in a few weeks." So I waited, thinking my info is safe on the server and I'll try again once their system is back up and running. On April 10, 2011 I went to my account on verizon.net to try once again to retrieve my back up files. NO BACKUP is on my account, it shows that I do not have that service even though I've been paying for it for over 2 years. I call tech support wanting to know where the @$%@ are my backupped files. Three hours and 5 people later, I get told my files I there, I just can't access them. Bounced to another department to an automated system that the Backup & Sharing dept is closed. Automated system said to leave a message and someone would call me back with in 24 hours. So I left a message (April 11). No one called and all my attempts to call them back gave me the same automated system saying they were closed. In 14 MONTHS of trying to get my files back, I have spoken to over 30 people! Today, April 20, I called Verizon again. First person mumbled their name, so I didn't get it. I spent an hour on the phone with her got told 1) they have no record of all the tech support calls I've made, 2) they will not refund my money for the service that I haven't been able to use and 3) she dumped me when I requested a supervisor. So I called back (two people later), I got Floor Supervisor Samantha #48790 and got told that 1) they will not refund my money, 2) Backup and Sharing is showing as cancelled but she can't find out when (so my files are definately gone!) and 3) she refused to give me a higher up supervisor (claimed she's the highest supervisor their is!). Not happy at all! Verizon ripped me off for 14 months on a service I can't access, can't retrieve my files from and now have dumped my files! I will be cancelling all services with them and warning everyone, do NOT go with Verizon!
