Just check the internet for complaints about this Compnay and you will find that there are a number of visitors to the UK who have been scammed by this Company.
On numerous occasions they have kept peoples car hire deposits, both the insurance deposit and the fuel deposits, those that have managed to get their money back have had a long hard trial to do this. Note that this compnay does not put a reserve against your credit card, it takes the deposits up front!!
I personally have been scammed by this Company, who have refused to return my desposits after 8 months of trying, and then finally now claim that the car was damaged on return but have been unable to provide any proof.
I will now have to progress with legal action to get my money back, if you check out you will see lots of links to other sites where numerous people have had the same problem.
Do not use this company, even if you do get your money back it will be a long hard slog. |

Unfortunately I didn't see this site before I hired a car from them last year for 6 weeks.
When I arrived at heathrow they sprung the surprise of a £500.00 deposit for insurance excess and £70 deposit for fuel.
I wanted to refuse and find an alternative, but it was difficult enough already as I only just managed to get this car, it was christmas 2010 and there was snow everywhere, we had just spent 2 days in Zurich airport after being diverted there because Heathrow was closed! So you can imagine we were eager to just sign, get in the car to drive to my parents I hadn't seen for over a year!
I returned the car on 3rd February in exactly the same condition I collected it and with a full tank of fuel.
I've just started to loose my cool with these people but now I'm disappointed in myself after seeing this site, but thank you regardless,
any pointers to pursue this matter to get my money back would be much appreciated.

| Friends of mine from abroad booked a car with this company a month in advance. The hire charge plus £800 deposit and £70 fuel deposit was CHARGED to their credit card at the time of BOOKING. They returned the car undamaged with a full tank. Two months has now elapsed and they are still waiting for their deposits back. The company has been contacted on numerous occasions and just says that it is looking into it but never does anything about it. My friends are now about to launch a claim in the small claims court to try and get their money back. |

| we hired the car for 6 weeks and its the same story as everyone else. they will not return the deposit. Several phonecalls emails later absolutely nothing. I cannot imagine why the authorities are not doing anything about it |

I hired a car from Car-Hire-UK in December 2012 and now nine weeks after returning the vehicle undamaged with a full tank of petrol, I am still waiting for my 570GBP refund (I live in Western Australia). I couldn't get a response from the company either by telephone or email. I therefore requested my credit card company's assistance to obtain my refund - something which they are pursuing.
Sadly I didn't realise how appalling this company was/is until I Googled the name and now I come across all the negative comments and fact that they seem to consistently withhold their customers refunds.
I submitted a complaint testimonial to their website and to act insult to injury, I've just noticed today that they've used my name but attributed someone elses praise to my name http://www.car-hire-uk.com/reviews.html
Would never recommend this company to anyone and would go as far as to say - don't use them.

I have had the same experience with my hire, we returned the car to Gatwick and so far have had no return of the deposit, they seem to do this to people coming to the Uk from abroad, which I was doing. But I live in the UK and was just returning for the Xmas holiday after being abroad, I have contacted East Sussex Police who are looking into the matter, I urge other people to do this as well.
