E470 Public Highway Authority E470 Express Toll attempting to scam people Denver, Colorado

This is a private company that owns and operates a toll road in the Denver area. Although I have never been on this toll road, I received a bill for tolls. I called them and said it must be a mistake - but was told they didn't make mistakes. I wasn't in Colorado when the tolls were charged, and the license plate was not mine. They insisted it was mine and demanded payment. I was emailed a photo of the license plate - which my Motor Vehicle Department tells me is registered to another person in another town - although it had been registered to me some 20 years ago and expired. The E-470 company representative at first refused to attempt any correction and demanded that I provide proof it wasn't my car, but after speaking to a supervisor, she said they will look into it. As far as I am concerned, this is an attempted scam. Even if you avoid E-470, you may be billed for tolls!

They didn't send me a bill.

I receive a letter from an attorney's office, threatening me for payment of $27.

$15 is for a 'collection fee'.

If they'd have sent me the bill on time there would be no fee.

This was after only 1 month !

They're back at it again...sending "3rd notice collection letters" which MIRACULOUSLY find their way to your home address no problem, when notice #1 and #2 never seemed to find their way!!!
Total scam, fraudulant business practices, hope they get caught.
I'm guessing most of their "business" is done with these "small" $20 fees and fines...when you have thousands of people "just paying it" because it's not worth their time to deal with all of the BS...but add it all up and you have a huge SCAM!! that the state DOT does NOTHING about!!!
Not to mention all of those poor people slapped with HUGE fines late last year.
I hope NO ONE in the state drives this highway, DO NOT support this "business"
