I am a professional engineer and Joe contacted me to do a site inspection on what of his jobs in Pickering. I completed the inspection and Joe cut me a cheque. I send him the inspection report and later found out the cheque bounced. I contacted Joe by phone and various emails and he always said he would pay but I never received my money.

I am surprised that Joe has anyone do inspection of his jobs, as when he did a complete renovation of my house in Toronto this year he had no city renovation permit posted, no drawings for the renovation, no site license from the ESA, no inspection report from an ESA inspector, no inspection from the Ontario Plumbing Inspectors, and as far as i know no general contractor license from the City of Toronto. Four months after the completion of the renovation the plumber he sent to finally fix the plumbing problem said that the job was not to code. Kitchen taps upstairs and downstairs are broken and all the knobs in the upstairs washroom are loose and will require costly repair.

Do not trust these people, especially do not take a cheque.
