Show MasterCard Bryant State Bank DO NOT FALL FOR THIS PRE-APPROVED SCAM!!! Sioux Falls, South Dakota |

If you receive a pre-approved Show MasterCard letter in the mail -- throw it out immediately.
They give you the impression that they have done a preliminary check on your credit by saying that you qualify for for an initial credit limit of $500, and may be eligible for even more.
When I was turned down by Show -- I phoned them and the first two people I spoke with completely lied to me and said that upon inquiry, TransUnion had sent them a list of people who were considered good credit risks.
After calling TransUnion and finding out that they never send out this kind of information -- I called back Show and told the girl I spoke to NOT to give me that line again because TransUnion does not provide credit risk information.
She put me on hold forever and then came back on and said that all Show MasterCard did to send me out a PRE-APPROVED CARD was verify that I was over the age of 18 and had a valid street address.
I have NEVER received a pre-approved card before that wasn't actually pre-approved at the time. PRE-QUALIFIED, yes -- but never PRE-APPROVED. And all this pre-approval was based on was my being over the age of 18 and not being homeless. Wow.
So now they have taken my credit score down [I have requested a letter of deletion] and wasted my time calling them and TransUnion.
DO NOT -- I REPEAT -- DO NOT ACCEPT A PRE-APPROVED OFFER FROM SHOW MASTERCARD. You are not pre-approved. You just aren't a 16 year old runaway.
I hope this helps somebody. I checked online before I accepted their offer and this credit card didn't come up as a scam. Let me be the first to declare that it is.

I too rec'd a Show Master Card from Bryant State Bank same as the other writers, but my results were different. My card was approved and I have used it to pay for several things including $60 worth of gas for my car. I also took a cash withdrawal of $60 at my banks atm machine. So far I have nothing but excallent results with these people, they do not charge you extra to pay your bill by phone if you want to do so by talking to a human being, unlike my other master charge card, I will not name them as they also have been an excellent bank to deal with. I've had nothing but a good experience to date with Show mastercard. I did receive a pre-approval in the mail and received my card. I ahve gone on vacations and have made local purchases and have not had any problems at all. It compares to my other mastercard and visa with reputable banks. I will continue with Show mastercard until they "show" themselves in a way that would negatively impact me.

I've had a TERRIBLE experience with Show Mastercard. I received the "pre-approved" card in the mail, which I never wanted and never activated, since the deal they offered was the worst I'd EVER seen (35% interest rate plus $75 annual fee). My credit isn't perfect but it's not nearly bad enough, nor would I ever be desperate enough, to accept an offer that terrible. So I called them and told them I didn't want their card, to NOT activate my card, and to take me out of their system completely. This was over a month ago. I've since received several statements charging me the $75 annual fee, plus now a $25 late fee, and an interest fee. They NOW claim I owe them over $100, FOR A CARD I NEVER WANTED AND NEVER ACTIVATED! Today, a customer service representative tells me that they've closed my account and I have a zero balance, but honestly, they told me that several weeks ago and I continue receiving statements from them, so I don't even believe them anymore. ridiculous. I would NEVER do business with this company. It's a total rip-off. |
