A1 Marketing Unlimited Inc. Timeshare marketing company makes false claims Laconia, New Hampshire

If you get a call from A1 Marketing, HANG UP THE PHONE immediately! In early November I got a call telling me that they had a buyer for my timeshare and asked if I would sell it and at what price. They called back the next day and said that the buyer had agreed to it. I paid their $998.00 fee and a pleasant young man named "Joe Stephens" was the agent who was handling the deal.

To make a long story short, everything was a lie; after a month he no longer answered the phone or e-mails (beyond the time that he thought I could ask the credit card company to initiate a chargeback??)

However, I was fortunate enough to have drawn him into an e-mail correspondence that verified that I had been told that there was an offer made on the timeshare. When I contacted A1 Marketing's Customer Service they were, for the most part, unresponsive to my e-mails and phone messages (they never pick up) - until I faxed them a copy of the e-mails.

Wisely, they issued a refund to my credit card...

I have phoned, faxed and E-mailed my agent and A-1 marketing unlimited, numerous times, and really do not want to believe this was a scam. I trusted Jim Springstein completely, and they have taken over 1397.00 from my credit card, and if this is not a honest deal, I do expect a refund to my credit card immediately. If the Company is an honest business, then I expect to receive the monies that was promised to me by the company for the sale of my timeshare. Jo Jean

The resale of a timeshare is a legitimate business. Companies agree to advertise a timeshare for a fee on their websites. As with advertising, the membership doesn´t need to sell in order the fees to be legitimate. The difference between an honest timeshare resale company and a scam, is when the company falsely suggest they have a buyer waiting for their timeshare, or picture unrealistic, overoptimistic selling possibilities:
