Currently, Vivint is working to make changes to their contracts to make things easier for their customers as they have found that many of their complaints stem from feeling misled or customers paid fees they did not feel they authorized. STATED IMPROVEMENTS FROM THE COMPANY. We have simplified our customer service process to decrease the amount of time that a customer has to wait before speaking with a representative. Our customer service will look at your contract, listen to recorded phone calls, and make sure to get to the bottom of your issue to resolve things THE RIGHT WAY. We want customer's to have a positive experience, and we understand that sometimes customer's fall on hard times. We're willing to work with all of our customers. Their experience and safety are our primary concerns. As a matter of policy, when a business becomes a member of the Corporate Advocacy Programthey agree to allow Ripoff Report to contact every client who filed a complaint so they can make things right with them. In order to confirm that the complaints were resolved, Ripoff Report is copied on all responses so we can insure that the member business did right by their customer.. APEX Alarm (also APX Alarm) has been sending people door-to-door in our neighborhood for a while now selling their alarm services in aggressive competition against ADT and other services. After two attempts we finally let the sales rep in. He was a young guy and seemed to know what he was talking about. He offered us free equipment and free installation. He even put a sign in our yard with a light. He scared us into getting the alarm system by showing us fake crime reports of our neighborhood. He even told us that our neighbors down the block were recently held at gunpoint. Later we found out that this was all made up. At the time we were terrified. I told the sales guy that we might be moving within a year and he said that we could shut off service whenever necessary at no cost. Another lie. The system works through our phone line. My husband had the phone line shut off because we weren't needing it anymore and the alarm system failed. I made complaints to APEX that our system was not working and that I would like to shut off service they would not let me out of the contract. I told them that we believed the sales rep lied to us -as we had mentioned we would be moving and may need to cancel service. They said that they were not responsible for what he said. They told us he was not even an employee of the company, just a summer intern and contractor working as part of a sales campaign. They said it would be impossible to track him down. (Even though his name is on the paperwork.) Let me just say this. This company is so good that even my husband, an attorney, was fooled by the fine lines in the contract. Now we are stuck in a 60 month contract with them and watch as these college interns go door-to-door in our neighborhood scamming more people. I called their corporate HQ in Utah asking for the name of their Director of customer service. I was extremely polite. The girl actually TOLD ME that she had been told to say that they do not give out last names, and only use first names. Unbelievable. I got: "Andy", Dir of Customer Service and "Mike", Company Legal Counsel. I have an attorney writing a letter to them to plead my case and we can't even get a full name. I will definitely be party to any class action suit against this company. Jaime
