Bill Currie Ford Sold Me Brand New 2007 F-550 - Service Dept Unable to Correct Siginificant Driveline Vibration Tampa, Florida
19th of Aug, 2011 by User340900
My wife and I purchased a 2007 F550 Superduty with a bed conversion package and air suspension added by Manning (Ford Authorized Upfitter) in Nov 2006 from Bill Currie Ford in Tampa, FL. The day after the purchase, on a day trip to Orlando, the wife and I noticed what I would describe as a siginificant driveline vibration. This was a repeatable vibration when driving between 45-50 and 75-80 mph. We took the vehicle into the dealer multiple times. The dealer changed and balanced the tires, shimmed the carrier bearing to adjust the driveline angle, with no siginificant improvement. This all took place over the next 12 months, or so, after the purchase. The Service Advisor, Manager, and Technician then told us the vehicle was supposed to vibrate. They indicated that Ford builds them that way. I indicated how absurd that statement was and at that point the dealer walked away from the problem and told us to Lemon Law the vehicle. There was only one problem, the vehicle GVWR was greater than allowed by Florida Lemon Law. Ford's position is the vehicle is operating as designed and there is no problem, and if there is, they are not responsible due to the upfitter work. Basically, The Dealer points to Ford, Ford points to the Upfitter, the Upfitter points to the dealer and I'm stuck in the middle of this circus with the bill even though a have several warrenties. There is a lot more to it and I have retained a law firm in Tampa, FL to pursue the issue with Ford. Ford has been less than cooperative in the matter, so far. They seem more interested in proving that I am insane, or a criminal, through the local law firm they retained. After those accusations failed, they argued that even though they offer a warrenty, since the truck was sold as a commercial vehicle, the warrenty is unenforcable legally (No State of Federal Law to Enforce the Warrenty). So, buyers of FORD Commercial Vehicles BEWARE of Ford and their so called warrenty. They refuse to stand behind their warrenty when their dealers fail to correct the problem. They hide behind the legal system with no intention of making it right. Ford has no concept of what customer service is. Its all Lawyers and customer service form letters.
