Budget Van Lines BudgetVanLines.com This company website will get you spammed by phone and email Internet

I am preparing for a move several states away in less than 4 weeks. I had received an outrageously high moving quote from a full-service company and have been looking for alternatives. Someone I know well told me about an ad they had seen online for Budget Van Lines, so late Friday afternoon I went to their website to get a quote. After I had entered my personal information, the website indicated I would receive a call from them. Almost immediately I got a phone call from another moving company (not Budget Van Lines). The sales person wanted to set up an appointment for their man to come to my home to see what I needed to move and give me an accurate quote. Somehow their system showed me living in an adjacent city even though they had my correct zip code. I went ahead and set the appointment. A few minutes later I received a call from another moving company. This one was less professional, with the woman giggling on the phone and putting me on hold twice while I was describing the list of items I would be moving. I wake up early this morning and see that my email inbox is getting crowded with multiple moving companies wanting to provide me with a quote for my move. I fully expect that my cell phone (with limited talk minutes available) will be getting spammed today and probably for at least the next week. Anyone who has had to move knows that it is a busy and stressful time. I certainly do not need to have my phone and email spammed by numerous companies when my move is less than a month away. If you are moving, I strongly urge you to get recommendations for a moving company from people you already know. Budget Van Lines is apparently a lead aggregator - they make their money by getting your personal information and passing it on (apparently instantaneously) to dozens, perhaps hundreds, of other companies. I have since cancelled the appointment with the first company and responded to all moving company emails by asking them to remove my information from their records and to not contact me again. Instead of using a full-service moving company that will likely overcharge me and rip me off, I will be hiring movers to load and unload my 26-foot Penske rental truck, which I myself will be driving. I received a glowing recommendation on the high quality of Penske's service and reliability of their rental trucks, and their people have been very professional thus far.
