Energy Saving Solutions - Energysavingindustry.com Doug Catero Energy Saving Industry, Weak Attempt to Rip Me Off North Miami Beach, Florida
9th of Aug, 2011 by User808185
I am a college graduate currently working in construction sales. Having found a legitimate local job on craigslist before I was searching for jobs when I came across Energy Saving Solutions post promising high dollar sales. Seeing their website and ease of accessing them via telephone I called them up for more details. I got in touch with Doug Catero. After briefly asking me about my experience (and not bothering to ask any details about my experience) he launched into his sales pitch about how I could sell their product and how they had a staff of engineers to back me up on proposals etc.. He promised to email me the Independent Sales Representative contract (Which looked Legit and is similar to actual contracts I have signed with real companies in the past. The first thing that struck me as odd was that he was ready to bring me on-board with zero interview. Second, he was asking for money. My commission only sales jobs in the past provided me with business cards, sales material, and access to business systems at no cost. When I got the email from him it started to become very clear that this was a joke. He promised to have business cards made with me listed as the "Regional Vice President". What legit company is willing to have someone that they have not even interviewed or asked for a resume represent their company as Vice President? Now don't get me wrong...their sales pitch is good and the product seems great. But it bothered me that there was no specific information on their actual product available, and there was no solid list of reference jobs. I called Doug to ask about this, and he hemmed and hawed and tried to change the subject. I asked him how was I supposed to know he was not a scam when he couldn't even send me any informational material in the mail and could not give me a list of reference jobs. He said I should look at their website and the fact that their President and CEO had their pictures posted on the site was somehow supposed to give me every confidence in the world. LOL what a joke. I told him at that point that I would research the company further and contact him if I was interested. Thanks to the original user who posted...you saved me $470! Of course I wasn't about to hand over my money...I knew that something was wrong. But thank you for clarifying it so quickly!

Spot on!

Zoho does not have an upfront licensing fee. The challenge with craigslist job postings is that they ARE mostly scams. No one should pay to work!
