|Recently I was invited for an employment interview with Herb Theune at ESI Careers in Burlington. Apparently, that is a career improvement service, not a placement agency. That means, candidates have to pay for what ESI has to offer. It is my first experience with such company. They also invite a spouse for the second interview. We were told they are in business for 20 years and given some insights on what they are doing and how.|
The reason for that, I understand now, is to sell on the spot. The minimum price over $3000 including HST seemed too high. So, we decided to investigate, see what the average market price would be for similar services and whether there are any alternatives available. Nothing came up for ESI Careers and we almost assumed it is all good and worth trying. However, once we Googled the President's, Herb Theune, RD Group International came up on the RipOff. SOOO many complains!!!
According to victims RDG Intl. was ripping off customers for years, a lot of reports were filed and the name Herbert C Theune came up on one of them. In June 2007 he was a Senior Director at RD Group International. The report is found here:
There is no way on green Earth I'm going to believe this match is coincidental. Plus, the industry, plus the strategies and the way they work with client. It is all like copy and paste from the ripoff reports on RD Group. Only RDG was charging $5000, these guys do $3000-$4000. Of course, we got cautious and did not proceed with the contract.
A few more details that contributed to our decision. The report mentioned above was filed in June 2007. The website for ESI careers was created on June 2, 2008according to http://whois.domaintools.com/esicareers.com. So much for 20 years in business. If you Goodle ESI, nothing comes up because they are new. But if you Google RDG, hold on to your chairs. The timing implies ESI Careers was established to copycat RD Group. RD Group was in Toronto, ESI Careers is in Burlington.
Can't say any more than that. Do you research and be careful.
