Before FedEx bought my friendly neighborhood copy& offset print shop, it was called Kinko's and sold essential office supplies and sent FAXes for you and you could make your own copies and local calls and they had tables & chairs, restrooms, passport photos, lamination, conference room w/ multimedia equipments,water cooler,limited printing & bindery and anything you needed printed. Great place to launch a job search from which, in this town, is often if you are not connected! When FedEx bought the place, no more tables, computers for rent for outlandish fees, no more phone and now you had to have pre-paid copy cards to insert in the copiers to make copies.... I bought a copy card & used it for several years. There was nothing about an expiration date and I liked to keep a $5-$10 balance on the card April 14,2011, I went in to make copies and suddenly, my card is not working. I asked the guy on duty about it and the card worked well enough but up came a message on the copy machine instead of a copy.It said "TAKE THE CARD" as in confiscate. The guy couldn't read how much money was left on it but he gave it back to me. He said the readout told him the card was invalid. I think I had $5.00 left on it. Maybe $10.00. The card reader CONVENIENTLY wouldn't give the amount or anything else except the card was invalid and for the attendant to take it. FEDEX-KINKO'S OWES ME $5.00 which I feel like they stole from me. If you multiply that by any other customers whose cards were canceled UNANNOUNCED when FedEx-Kinko's became Fedex Office etc. NICE CHUNK OF CHANGE And all they had to do was keep the money & cancel the card without notice. CORPORATE POLICY? OR JUST A MISTAKE? I still have the card. KEEP IT AS A REMINDER NEVER TO SET FOOT IN A FEDEX-KINKO'S STORE AGAIN! And UPS Store has a new customer.; I'm not going there anymore. If you want to go--BE CAREFUL!
