| In a case where a child was removed by the Henderson County DFPS the investigative conclusion by DFPS found all parties buy the mother Undetermined. Not one suspect was charged by prosecuters and all insist on there innocents. Not one has been givin the chance to prove their innocents to the court. It has been over 90 days since the child was taken unlawfully into custody, and the mother has beed definitly ruled out, and is still in foster care. Mind you that the child may never have been abused in the first place and all suspects have claimed innocents. They DFPS has privately advised mother to leave the Father and show she can stand on her own two feet, and then they will give her child back to her. In the mean time folks there is a grandma who was suspected on the basis that she played a major supportive role in the childs life. Every time she tried to contact the DFPS they would almost never return her calls. When she asked for visitation they turned her away. When she wanted to take a lie detecter to prove her innocents once again they turned her away. It is a law that when the child can not return home for any period of time that they are to be placed with family. Grandma was innsistant on getting her name cleared and getting a home study which she was repeatedly denied. In my opinion the grandma was no more guilty than the pediatrician who had been seeing the child once a week because he was a premature baby. The reason he was premature was due to a car accident that lead to many problems in the weeks following leading to the premature birth. The baby was taken at 10 weeks by the DFPS and is now 6 months old. In that 3 months I can tell you that this grandma has watched as her once loving beautifull family has been torn to shreds. Not being able to afford an attorney the whole family has had no choice but to sit back and watch their rights get trampled upon. The DFPS and the DA's office has never allowed the family let alone the parents to see ANY of the evidence, or medical records for the child. And as far as they know the Judge has only seen the evidence provided by DFPS for DFPS! And the DA has never investigated anyone but the father. The Father has provided the DFPS a hair folicle drug test which was clean and a clean criminal background. He is a young man who lost his job for 3 weeks and was at home with the child who had a siezure and he did everything to save the child and get him to the ER. This is why he is the main suspect. He is a good kid who secured a home at a young age for his family to be and enrolled into collage wanting to be a history teacher. Now his dreams are shatterd and he may never get to see his child again. His mother father and sister, and all the other family members are just appalled at the injustice of the system and are grieving a child whom they all love and miss tremendously. His family is also a support for the childs mother and has been since her years in high school. Now the DFPS has advised her to stay away from them or risk losing her child again(if she indeed does get him back). It is my opinion that the DFPS is setting her up for failure knowing that she will be a young single mother in collage and trying to maintain a job. When did family become so unimportant in this country? This family is not alone. There are thousands of families affected by the DFPS, or CPS who are innocent and have had their rights tramppled upon. Many children are torn from loving families due to so called suspicion. Many people profit from child abuse and suspected child abuse with no evidence. The state makes up to 6,000 dollers for each child removed from the home, paid with tax payer money! And it doesn't end there. After all in said and doen it is the child who suffers the most. 75% of children aging out of the system have been abused by a foster parent or government worker. And today 70% of inmates in the prison system have been former foster children or wards of the state. The children are 6 times more likely to be abused by foster parents than with their own relatives. NOT one day goes by that I dont cry my eyes out at least once, I miss my granbaby so much, and I'd rather be physically torcherd than to watch my family riped to pieces on the basis of suspicion and biassed opinins. I would take my granbaby in a heartbeat! He deserves to be with his family and his family deserves to be treated fairly. I am a sleepless grandma with a shatterd heart, and this is my story! |

| I know the case you speak of. You fail to mention that the baby you speak of had a cracked skull, 3 subdermal hematomas on the brain, a couple of broken ribs, and fractures to his upper arms. |
