MTS Circulation
MTS Circulation LLC MTS Cashed Check for items purchased, never received items Phoenix, Arizona
12th of May, 2011 by User628751
In November of 2010 a sales man came to my door claiming to be an independent contractor for the MTS Circulation selling books and magazines door to door. After reviewing the information available in the catalogue he provided, I decided to make a purchase for a Christmas gift that year. He told me the items would be delivered by that time. The Disney Spiderman books were purchased for $40 plus $15 process and handling. After he left I noticed in fine print that the delivery could take up to 120 days. I decided after this to be patient and wait for the item to be delivered. After weeks of waiting beyond the 120 day mark, I contacted them regarding the matter. I never received any confirmation they received my complaint nor did anyone ever contact me regarding the matter. After several attempts, and unsuccessful attempts at that I tried calling a number that was available on their web site for people interested in working for them. There are no other numbers available to contact this company. Although they appear to be legit, I still have not heard one thing from them. I have wrote several different letters to BBB and companies inquiring about this matter and still have not received a refund or my items that I had purchased several months ago. I would like to take legal action if possible also to avoid other people being ripped off by this company. This is a terrible business who ignores their customers. They have a customer inquiry section available on their web site but when you put your receipt number in it directs you to a page that cannot be loaded. I still have the receipt, carbon copy of the check and a bank statement that shows this check was cashed with no delivery confirmation from the office where I live or my mail. There was also a witness to the purchase and I can confirm the individual who came to my door and basically stole my money so he could go on this "trip" to Austraila. Please help me in regards to this matter. I'm very angry and tired of companies like this taking advantage of people who barely make enough to get by as it is. I wouldn't have made the purchase but I have a child and wanted to surprise them with a late Christmas gift.

You must call 1-888-232-3040, which is the number for Fulfillment Services. They are the middle man between MTS and the magazine companies. Give them you receipt number and they will help you.

I had a girl who was about 20 who came to my door saying she was going door-to-door trying to sell magazines for her scholarship. The company is MTS Circulation. We chatted for a bit while she gave me the information and she was saying that i could buy a subsciption of magaszines, one payment or split into two, that could either be sent to troops overseas or children who are in hospitals. Being the good hearted person I am i believed her and agreed to send books to children who are ill. She said it would take two weeks for my check to clear and she said i could pick a sticker she ad and she could out it on my door and in two weeks i could take it down. Now i've never met this girl in my life. She asked me what houses would be good enough to try, so i pointed her to a few, one was my boyfriend's friend house. After she left his house, he came down here and said that girl told him she was my cousin and I sent her up there. Which yes i did, but I didn't know the girl, yes she was nice, but is she scamming us. I'm going to cancel my check because i was at work and my boyfriend got a text from his friend up the street. Our local news had a report of a magazine scam that delt with the same situation i was in. is it a scam?

My daughter at a college in Nebraska (and her roommate) got hit with the same scam earlier tonight. She felt like a fool immediately after the young man and woman left their apartment but she said they had kept talking and pressuring, not letting her get a word in until she wound up writing a check for $40 plus $15 (for whatever) for "sick kids, " I think the story was. They claimed some boys from the track team had suggested they talk to my daughter and her roommate, but on checking the boys said they had never talked to the scammers. I'll be cancelling that check when the bank opens in the morning, if that's even soon enough; I have my name on that account. I told her to call the police; they said they had heard similar stories last year. I also told her to contact the local BBB.

Supposedly the police said even if you try to stop the check, which itself costs money, the checks sometimes go through anyway. My daughter said the fine print indicated it could take weeks to stop payment if they changed their minds-----by that time the check would have been deposited and good luck getting it back. She tried getting in touch with the organization but all phone numbers were disconnected. She could only give me a PO box, which is essentially useless for tracking anyone down. Remarkable how this org has tentacles all over.
