NEK is a company without reputation that exists on the back of it's people. NEK falsely classifies people as "1099 Independent Contractors" to avoid paying it's share of social security Tax and unemployment Taxes. The referenced position here in this complaint has set hours and people could not freely come/go as defined criteria for "Independent Contractor". NEK required everyone to go out suddenly and open a Business account & buy their own insurance because they think it will keep the IRS at bay. NEK has 20 year old individuals without previous experience in this field and NEK calls them consultants or evaluators? PAYMENT For 2-week Work Period~~ Always: NEK paid 30 days or later after the 2wk work period "completely ended" so basically you wait on your money for 45 days, which equates out to the fact that NEK is using workers money for 30 days. How many of you can afford to wait on your pay for 45 days? If NEK doesn't get their money, you don't either. You have to wait as long as it takes for NEK to be paid. The price of doing business includes paying your staff no matter who pays the business and if you don't have the $$, you take out a loan. Recently however, NEK has escalated its negative reputation to ripoff level by totaling failing to pay many people for a 2 week period ending on JUNE 23, 2011. The payment was due in full on August 1, 2011. Todays date: August 8th, 2011. Since NEK has lost their contract on July 1st, many men fear that they will NOT get paid at all. Most of them are counting on this money for support of their families, even after waiting 45 days. NEK represents themselves as "retired military" people that give back to the community, but the very people that NEK has failed to pay are mostly comprised of x-military with families. If you plan on working for a company in this line ...You want to be paid, right? If you're ex-military, PLEASE Avoid this terrible "uncaring" company called NEK like the plague!! If you are looking to hire a company, avoid NEK! You will receive a Lion's Share of complaints. They may bring in the lowest bid, but they are low because they are allegedly illegal.
