Nevitt Moving
Nevitt Moving and Storage local for Arpin Van Lines worst of 12 moves, bad service, thieves, liar New Braunfels/San Antonio, Texas
24th of Dec, 2010 by User162172
This was a government move and I expected changes in the moving contract/rules, including customer survey, to result in a good move.Instead, I got thieves-are-us and it will probably be the worst move of 9 government moves involving 12 shipments. Following is Nevitt Movings part of this:

The owner George Nevitt during the pre-survey complains about customers taking advantage of him on damages. He provides a lot of assurances about incentives to perform well, weeding out bad apple emloyee's etc. - all just empty words in the end.

"Lead" packer subsequently called wife and demands specific time on the same day for survey. Was already surveyed and owner commented he didn't know why the packer went to ur house.

On packing day, lead packer shows up and wants my SUV moved. So I move it back in the drive some.Lead packer demands vehicle be moved completely out of the drive.I put out taillight moving the the SUV into the street. When packer's van is in the drive, there doors are nowhere near where my SUV was parked.

On the first day, lead packer makes lots of complaints about packing schedule.I had limited packers to 3 over 3 days instead of 4 to pack in 2 days due to past theft. He talks about making it a 2 day pack anyway. He comments about wife bringing tiems down from shelves to pack, but we were told packers will not remove items from high shelves (some of ours were 8').Complains about not having enough stuff ready to pack, but then stops 45 minutes early baecuase he is tired.

Refused to include plastic totes we had other two packer wrapped in paper, which caused a problem with the driver, as totes don't belong on drivers inventory.

My wife had been assured there would be enough boxes to over pack 2 other totes with Christmas decorations.Packer's ran out of boxes and refused to get any more boxes. So totes were to be shipped loose and we (by both Nevitt and packers) were told the driver would inventory. The driver didn't inventory and I didn't catch the omission. Totes were lost (stolen actually) in transit/temp storage and I'll be out about $700 for the contents.I'm still not sure who was supposed to inventory the totes.

My wife keeps a lot of here kitchen things in the original boxes. The lead packer really wanted them to be shipped loose, didn't want to pack in their boxes. So he packed them, but acted like he was doing us a big favor.

Additional items stolen by packers daughter's microscope, noise canceling headphones, and wife's e-reader.None specifically listed on the inventory and I expect a fight with the carrier.Total about $1,000.Also, stole daughter's earrings and a necklace.

Packing items in garage, wife wanted electgric ice cream maker packed (I wanted to throw it away). So tell them to pack.Missing at delivery and I think the packers put it in their van and dumped it later because there wasn't room in the boxes.

Lead packer had claimed he never had an item broken in 20 years of packing.I told him he'd have to prove it.A number of items weren't even wrapped.Quite a few were broken, although my wife's iron was the onely expensive item damaged/broken.

Nevitt supposedly ordered a prep kit for front load washing machine.Claimed it had been ordered over-night delivery. Then various excuses and comments about why it wasn't there and finally the driver/load crew would get. Seemed tobe a conflict on whether packers or drivers are responsible for prepping the front load washer.Prep kit and installation was on the materials and services list, but wasn't installed and I never even saw it.I think it was just trying to take advantage to fraudulently bill the government.

When I filled out the customer survey, the packers scored around 50% (overall move scored less than 60%).I was told later that anything below 85% is considered bad and taken very seriously.

If movers leave anything in your boxes, totes, etc. be sure to specifically check that all are on the inventory.Arpin is alreadya month late on initial processing of the claim.I'll post Arpin review after I see how bad we get screwed on the claims.

So Nevitt is extremely bad, and I hope this review allows other to avoid the exterely bad experience I had and avoid theseliars and thieves. And Nevitt should stop blaming his customers and look at the people he employes and the (bad) service he provides.
