Nola Fitness
Nola Fitness Nola Gym sold me a dirty, used knock off product after I specified only new on the order. Will not respond to calls Hammond, Louisiana
10th of Apr, 2011 by User264127

To Whom It May Concern: OnMarch 4, 2011, I placed and order and specifically requested a brand new item
only. The note can be seen on the order form confirmation and the invoice. I
heard nothing from the company but they took the money from my bank account.
After days of seeing the order in the ""waiting for fulfillment
stage" I requested a refund. I began to worry as I could get anyone on the
phone. (Note that until now that is still the case.) They continue to change
the way the phone is answered and its only the one voice. The order was placed on the 4th I tried calling from the 7th as I noted
they had taken money from my account. However, as the first day and including
the online chat, the phone was never answered. I asked for my money again by
the contact form on the site and received an email only on the 15th stating the
status had upgraded and the order had been shipped. For two days I contacted
Fed Ex. as I did not believe them at Nola Fitness. Fed Ex said a label was
called in at 1:00 AM on the 14th but no pickup was scheduled. I
continued to ask for my money back. On the 18th I could see a pick up was
taking place. All of this time when calling their number, it would say call
back during working hours or you would wait on the phone while they stated
operators were busy. I waited on the line each time until a message stating you
should leave a number and they would get back to you. I left a number and never
heard from them. Reading their return policy I also realized a problem. They advertise American Express
on the site but they dont take it.
The return policy allows charges for broken leg rest pins $20 and worn
items $35. No retail box $10 and No adapter $15. In addition to this there is a
restocking fee of $12. (They have now removed this from the site but I have it
on the form they printed up themselves. I specifically stated on the order form (I have a copy of it) that I did not want
a used, refurbished product and they should send me nothing but a brand new and
sealed product. The package arrived on the 22nd. Inside was an open box that had been torn apart by
previous owner. There was no tape that seals a box when you put it together. It
was presented in a state that would require assembly. The label was half on and
another logo can be seen underneath. Moisture may have loosened it during
transport. Black spots were on the product (a Back2Life Massager). It was very
obviously used and nothing was sealed. The plastic was old and crinkled; the Styrofoam
was broken in several places and dirty. The box has info included but area is blacked out with a
magic marker. I immediately took photos and then wrote them as well as notifying
my bank. The Nola Gym people or Thomas Hempel has not responded until now. They
changed the phone answering service after I left a message saying they are
experiencing difficulties and it should be fixed by the afternoon. It continued
to say this since I received the package on the 22nd until just a few moments
ago today the 24th. (Update: today 4/11/11 it has changed again. There is still
no answer or return call. In essence, they have sent me a used item knowing its
not what I wanted and are now looking for restocking fees and fees if Item is
used etc. What should I do? I asked for a brand new item and that can be seen
on the order. I want a full refund of all monies and should not be paying even
to return the item. What recourse do I have against this company and how should
I proceed. Another agency said to return it but they could say they never
received it. I want to act quickly and get this moving. The support address on the print out cannot be used. I tried and the email states its an invalid address and it returns to me. I have used the telephone number on the shipping box in your complaint for the other numbers are
1-866-556-4235-option3 and 1-504-452-7944 and 1-504-383-8961. Email is support@nolagym.com. I have taken photos and have the email
done from my address and responses from them. I have nothing that took place on
their website such as my constant request to return funds. I hope this can be
tracked. I am available to answer any questions you might have.

I too am having problems with NOLA Gym. I placed an order in January and have yet to receive it?? It is now April and after several emails, instant chats and phone messages, no product. I was told via instant chat from "Tommy" (because no one has ever answered the phone in 3 months I have been calling), they had no control over their outside vendor and apologized. Each time I made contact, they would put me off another week or two and I have finally had it. I waited because the price was so cheap and after thinking it through more, I realized I am being scammed! Even if I did receive my product, what happens if I needed to return it, I would still have all these problems as well. Unfortunately, they have left me no choice but to cancel the charge on my card and pay the extra money to purchase the item from a reputable vendor. Sorry NOLA, I tried:(

Hello, I am upset with this company also. I ordered an Ab-Coaster on March 3 2011. Nola Fitness charged my credit card March 03, 2011. I was told by Tommy on April 1st that it takes 5 to six weeks to recieve my order. On April 07 2011 their site changed my order to "Awaiting Shipment" yea the Coaster is on it's way, NOT I have tryed calling all thier phone #s and live chat, heck I even faxed them twice with out one answer since April 1st. I just put in a dispute to my credit card co. for my money back. Sorry Nola but I would not order from these people until they get their act together. :( customer! Beware of these guys!

I recently placed an order for two products called Back2life from nola fitness or nola gym. It was never shipped and the company would not answer emails, telephone calls or faxes. Luckily, I had paid thru PayPal and filed a dispute to reclaim my funds. Even then, nola fitness sent me a notification that my money had been refunded when actually it had not been sent thru paypal. I forwarded all communications to paypal and was successful in getting a refund. STAY AWAY FROM THESE GUYS.

Hello. I am also having problems with this company. My order was placed on 2/4/2011. I ordered an AB Coaster that they were selling for a very good price. I have not received my item yet and I have tried several times to contact them. When I call the number that they have on their website I always get a busy tone. I contacted them via e-mail and after several weeks (4/4/2011) I e-mailed them again because I had not received any answer to my original e-mail. They got back to me on 4/5/2011 telling me that I had to pay another $40.00 for shipping. I answered their e-mail telling them to go ahead and take the $40.00 from the credit card that I had used to pay for the order. I have not received an answer from them ever since and the order still shows an "awaiting fulfillment" status. I e-mailed them again requesting a full refund. I have not received an answer. Since I paid this with my credit card I will contact my bank and request them to cancel this transaction to get my money back. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PEOPLE!!!

I also have been trying to get a refund from Nola Gym for over 1 month. After recieving the merchandise, and finding it to be used and not working properly I requested a return. After multiple phone calls with no response and many emails I recieved my RMA # to return the equipment. They recieved the equipment back and after 1 month I still have not gotten my refund. They had no problem taking my money out of my account, but I feel they have no intention of refunding me. I have tried calling again multiple times (they always have phone issues) and after multiple emails (with no response at all) I feel I have been DUPED!! HOW CAN THIS COMPANY STAY IN BUSINESS AND WHO DO YOU REPORT THEM TO? I AM VERY ANGRY AND FRUSTRATED.

Add us to the growing list of people who have been bilked by this so called company.
The Back2Life product we received (after waiting over 6 weeks) was dirty and, of course, had no instructions included. It does not work properly and we want our money back! We will not return it until we get a refund, but that will be like waiting for hell to freeze over.
(Too bad New Orleans, LA is even remotely associated with this group of scammers.)
