Penn Warranty Corp
penn warranty corp unethical, dishonest, ripped-off wilkes barre, Pennsylvania
26th of Dec, 2010 by User460380
I purchased my contract 10/07 and have penn warranty deduct my premium every month(37.00) from my checking account and this is my only claim. The second week of dec my car started making a loud thud, thud, thud. I took the car to my regular mechanic & he informed me that it was the timing belt, which he couldn't do( Saturn dual cam). So I called pepboys and made an appt. I also called Penn Warranty to get info about filing a claim and he was recommending pepboys all the way. I took my car into pepboys on sat morning & mechanic told me "they have to make sure its was the timing belt" & he would let me know in a couple of hrs. I called him back at 5 pm & they hadn't looked at it yet. sunday they were waiting for the tools to do the job from another shop and would probably be there mon or tues. I called every day and on tues I was told that they couldn't do the job because they didn't have the tools and I was told to get the car towed to a Saturn dealer or a GM dealer, which I did. The dealer and penn played phone tag. I thought pepboys had started my claim, so I called the dealership and told them to stop whatever they were doing until they talked to an adjuster. The next morning (wed) the dealer called me back to see what I wanted to do because the mechanic that was going to fix my car was going on vacation the next day. I told him to go ahead. Later that day he called & said it was done. Then I called penn to talk to the claims adjuster, she informed me that they are paying $394 out of a &1300. She told me she couldn't help that the dealership overcharged me. Both of the other shops told me it would be a big job. I stated that I wanted to dispute the claim amount & called that # and got a recording; I still haven't heard from her. Dec 16th I got a letter from pwc that they were not renewing my contract as of dec 28th.I inturn called customer service to talk to the women who sent me the notice to ask the reason that I was cancelled and was given the run-around. 1st, I was told that I had 176,000 miles on my car and the limit was 150,000 and I corrected her, I had 136,900 mi. She then told me my contract was 130,000. So I asked her to send a copy of the Genesis plan I had and I was going to dispute this. Well today I got a copy of the sales slip for the genesis plan and a paper that tells me what is covered( timing belt is covered) but no prices or limits other than the $100 deductible. I called customer service that I didn't get what I wanted....How much they pay, mileage, labor and she told me that info was not available. I was going to cancel this contract after I found out their fraudulent claims on what they take care of. I feel I was canceled because of my claim and nothing else an if you would check you ripoffs by Penn Warranty, you will see that they claim they cannot cancel a genesis contract. I,m still waiting for the disputer to call me. I would not recommend in anyway! v
