| I bought a piece of software called TidySongs in March 2011 (3.5 months ago). It is/was a good piece of software for organizing music in iTunes. I went to us it the other day only to get an error code. I clicked the code and it said TidySongs is not working but I should buy a new piece of software called Rinse from RealNetworks. After doing some research on the internet it was clear that RealNetworks purchased TidySongs and disconnected all the existing customers. I downloaded the demo of Rinse software and I was amazed except for the color it was EXACTLY the same. I sent several emails to "customer service" but never recieved and response. I have an option of buying Rinse for $40 or find another piece of software (I am going with the latter). Avoid RealNetworks because they have no customer support, and do not and will not think twice to screw its customers. Good luck to all.... |

I spent days trying to get real to see that screwing there customer base was not ethical in any sense. They say its a completely different product, yeah right!!. I think I'll make a completely different product called "Rinse your money down the drain" and make it as different as between rinse and Tidysongs. Watch their lawyers write cease and desist letters within hours.
I'm in for a class action
They are out and out thieves.

| The Rinse/Tidysongs fiasco is a small corner of the tip of the iceburg of RealNetworks ability to take something good and run it aground. They envelope other companies that have a clue about great products and services, then do a forceful transition to RealNetworks methods and practices, many times driving out the talent and reasons why the smaller companies were purchase-worthy and attractive in the first place. The environments, processes, and designs are often years behind the companies they acquire, and unfortunately cause the opposite of progress by forcing less than optimum strategies and methods to be used by employing the "Real" way instead of listening and leveraging the available resources to drive the industry forward. Real Networks excels at taking diamonds and throwing them into piles of sh!t. Does that give you more diamonds? |
