I stopped in this local hair salon because I wanted to try it out, being that it's so local. My last stylist moved to Mississippi, so I had to switch. I walked in to "Salon Joseph" and there was no one in there, except for the employees. I couldn't help but notice for some reason there was poop on the floor to my left. There must've been a big dog in there or something. The smell was so overwhelming, I almost threw up. As I approached the counter, a younger man about my age (33) with black hair slicked back like Steven Segal with a pony tail, approached me and said "what's up"? I told him what I wanted and he scoffed and said "sit here". It was then he started arguing with another man (in another language). The arguing got so loud and intense, I thought a fight was going to ensue. Frustrated, the young man started doing my hair so aggressively he was practically pulling it out! After telling him he was hurting me, he again scoffed and said "I've been doing this a long time, I know what I'm doing!" The entire time in the chair was a horrible experience. There was a screaming little girl running around the entire salon, I couldn't even have peace and quiet! The man doing my hair's breath wreaked of weed so bad! It smelled like he not only smoked right before I got there, but also had "weed-flavored" breath mints! I almost got high myself from smelling his God-awful breath! After he was done, he ripped me out of the chair! He couldn't wait to have me leave. My hair was nothing what I asked for, and cut way too short! I brought it to his attention and he shrugged his shoulders and said "I'll give you a discount next time". I was so irritated. Now came time to pay. I go up to the counter and he said "hold on". He walked away to the back, to the man whom he was arguing with. He leaned in his ear and whispered something, to which the man whispered back in his ear. He then came back and said "150 bucks even". I was shocked at how much the price was. I asked "why so much?" His response was an even louder, more stern "150 BUCKS!" I grabbed my debit card and gave it to him. "Cash only! We don't accept anything else". So now, I had to walk outside and go to the ATM in which charged me $4 to get the money out, and walk back inside to give him $150. He didn't even say thank you. He took the cash and stuffed it in his pocket. I now gave him $160 because all I had was 20's from the ATM. I asked "where's my change?" He responded with "aren't you leaving a tip?!" I said "absolutely not." He took the money back out of his pocket and yelled in the back for the older man to come give him change. The guy came up and looked at me like some sort of idiot. He pulled 10 wadded-up singles and a bunch of lottery scratch-offs out of his pocket and counted 10 singles back to me. Needless-to-say, HORRIBLE experience! Never going back!!
