Shiloh Resort Stole my money!! Clarington, Pennsylvania

My husband and I rented a cabin from Shiloh Resort in Clarington Pa on 6/5/11. It was the Chalet cabin #1. From the pictures on their website all we could view was the outside of this one cabin. This should have been a clue to us NOT to rent this, but we did anyway. We were excited to get away from town and looking forward to a nice night with no kids, tv or phone. I was told from Doe (the owner) that the cabin slept 2 and that I would enjoy my stay when I spoke to her on the phone to reserve the cabin. We got there and checked in with Doe, I paid with my visa bank card and she gave us the key. The cabin for one night was $75.00 and with the tax it came to $81.75. Not a problem. We got to the cabin key in hand. Noticed the key was for a pad lock to open the door. This should of been clue number two for us, but we were happy to be away and went in. A very strong musty smell hit us soon as we walked in. The sofa had large very noticable stains, only half the lights worked, only some of the windows opened while the others opened about 2 inches, the stove top was so rusted over I don't see how we could of cooked, pots and pans that were there were filthy and very used, me being only 5 feet tall would of need a step stool to reach the toilet, the bathroom sink had red stains from the water dripping (makes me wonder what the water was like), there were 2 holes in the floor in the hallway, the cabin actually slept 4 with one room having 2 bunk beds and the other room having a full size bed. The beds, all of them were hard as a rock. The full size bed, you could feel springs coming from it. My husband and I looked at each other and said "no way". When leaving this mess we noticed the lock on the inside of the door was made from a hot dog poker (the ones you use to roast hot dogs with). We locked it back up with the pad lock and went back to the office. Once at the office the owner was gone but her husband was there. My husband told the man he wasn't trying to be rude but that the cabin was not to our liking and we wanted a refund as we wouldn't be staying there. The man got very rude and said loudly "what do you expect for $75.00 a night". I looked at him and said "cleanliness". That made him more angry. My husband told him we didn't like the musty smell, nor the stained sofa, holes in the foor, windows that don't open, a stove and pans we can't cook with. The man got very angry with us saying "I do my best!!!!". Well, I'm sure he does, but that was awful. The man left to find his wife to refund us our money. He came back about 10 min later with a reciept for me to sign for the refund, however the refund said only $75.00 not $81.75. When I asked him about the $81.75 the man yelled at me "IT COSTS ME MONEY TO RUN THESE TRANSACTIONS". And he slammed his hand down on the counter. I work in customer satisfaction and he gets a big fat F minus from me for that. If we have a customer who isnt satisfied at my place of work then we refund their money INCLUDING the tax. As we were walking out the door thinking this was over with the man tells us he hopes he never has people like us come back. Excuse me????? My husband told him "we wont be back". If a business is so worried about the cost of a transaction then they shouldn't accept EFT. We ended up in another town in a hotel. The service was better and the room was clean.
